HEY, where is my NCB (in General)

QBRanger May 1 2009 5:09 PM EDT

I had the NCB till May 1.

Now is it gone.

I thought it left at cache flush tonight.

I had it until CB went down today.

I know nobody cares anymore about fixing things, but C'mon, this is a lot of xp I am losing.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 1 2009 5:11 PM EDT

Wow, I care, that does truly suck. It should have been there until midnight.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 1 2009 5:11 PM EDT

Sorry, scratch midnight, cache flush*.

AdminTal Destra May 1 2009 5:12 PM EDT

until may one implies that today being may one it left last night at midnight (really was cache flush)

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 1 2009 5:13 PM EDT

It's always been that way tal, it stays until the day it ends actually ends. So, if it says May 12, the NCB stays until cache flush *after* May 12.

Picasso May 1 2009 5:17 PM EDT

NCBs _end_ the day listed. So May 1 wasn't scheduled to be your last day, it's the end day. I was caught off guard when I ran my NCB too.

QBRanger May 1 2009 5:19 PM EDT

NO,

I had my NCB xp until CB went down. It ends after cache flush the day after it states. IE, mine should end 4am tomorrow.

Picasso May 1 2009 5:20 PM EDT

That wasn't my experience. It ended the cache flush on the day listed.

QBRanger May 1 2009 5:23 PM EDT

You must have been mistaken as it always ended as I stated before.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 1 2009 5:31 PM EDT

Yes, like I also stated before, NCBs go through the day they end on. Ask dudemus, as he had one that ended recently.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 1 2009 5:54 PM EDT

Wow that sucks, why do these things always happen to you?

DoS May 1 2009 6:03 PM EDT

That does suck, sorry to hear this Ranger. :\

QBRanger May 1 2009 6:05 PM EDT

Does not happen only to me. I am just the most vocal about it.

And yes, it does suck, royally.

Out of 3 weeks I had this NCB, a total of 24 hours was lost due to CB glitches. This latest one is the icing.

Rawr May 1 2009 9:06 PM EDT

I've lost at least a few days due to downtime as well :(

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] May 1 2009 9:09 PM EDT

ncb bonus does indeed end at cache flush on the day after it is set to expire from my experience.

bummer man! ; (

kevlar May 1 2009 9:59 PM EDT

ah the things we have to endure for this sweet, and FREE game....

Soxjr May 1 2009 11:42 PM EDT

I would have to admit that although this does suck for you it also happens to most everyone else around. Even way back during my NUB there was plenty of down time and I'm sure if I was to add up the time I lost 24 hours or more due to downtime back then. So even though it hurts where you would have been pretty much everyone else has had the exact same problem.

QBRanger May 1 2009 11:50 PM EDT

Yes,

But this is not due to a downtime.

Just a stupid bug that nobody in power ever cares to address.

QBRanger May 1 2009 11:54 PM EDT

Your posting a link to a sexual song in response to my thread?

Are you insane?

kevlar May 2 2009 12:35 AM EDT

lol, RELAX!

QBRanger May 2 2009 12:37 AM EDT

Easy to say when it is not your NCB that got nerfed.

And lost 10-20k MPR and 35k tattoo levels.

Very easy to take the relax attitude when it does not effect you.

kevlar May 2 2009 12:44 AM EDT

Jesus, Ranger. You act like anything that happens only happens to you. We've all gone through the downtime, stop being so damn righteous. With my NUB I went through almost a weeks worth of downtime total. Don't be so ignorant and think everything revolves around you.

QBRanger May 2 2009 12:47 AM EDT

Gee Kevlar,

Relax why don't you.

You seem to think this thread is designed to get you all riled up.

It has nothing to do with you and would be better served if you did not spam in it.

You are not the CB police. Stop acting like you are.

kevlar May 2 2009 12:53 AM EDT

lol riled up? Are you kidding me? You think that crap is going to fly anymore? You pull that spam thing way too much and I'm very relaxed. It's a joke anymore the way you design posts around yourself and expect everyone to just bow to them. I'm actually quite amused how more people are actually voicing their opinion about the stuff that is brought up anymore...

kevlar May 2 2009 12:55 AM EDT

and don't tell me that it has nothing to do with me. You post anything in this forum and it has to do with the community. That includes me, so shut your pie hole thinking you have the audacity to discount members of the community. Thanks!

[P]Mitt May 2 2009 1:07 AM EDT

Kevlar, drop it. I care about what Ranger has to say. So we don't need to hear your pointless commentary meant to start a flame war.

kevlar May 2 2009 1:09 AM EDT

Sorry Mitt, not this time I did nothing to start a flame war. All I suggested was to relax. Side with what you want, but I'm done having someone trying to silence the crowd due to overreaction.

Soul Eater May 2 2009 1:19 AM EDT

I too am getting quite tired of all the complaining Ranger has been doing lately.

[P]Mitt May 2 2009 1:33 AM EDT

Then ignore it.

kevlar May 2 2009 1:38 AM EDT

no ignorance is not the way to roll. don't let others tell you when to be passive. be yourself.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 2 2009 1:45 AM EDT

"With my NUB I went through almost a weeks worth of downtime total."

I've been here for your entire NUB and that is a blatant lie.

kevlar May 2 2009 1:50 AM EDT

blatant lie? the server has been down several days through my NUB where I was unable to log in. (keep in mind that some of us go to school/work so that constitutes a full days worth)

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 2 2009 2:06 AM EDT

"keep in mind that some of us go to school/work so that constitutes a full days worth"

First off that's nothing similar to what Ranger is talking about. Also, I have been here during your entire NUB, I'm on CB every day, I know when the server is down. As for my character, it's the kind that appreciates the truth.

kevlar May 2 2009 2:24 AM EDT

It is similar, and forgive you for not noticing. The server is not without it quirks and boo hooing like this is not the answer to the problem. Grow up.

ScY May 2 2009 2:50 AM EDT

Maybe grow up and stop posting links to the relax video in every one of ranger's threads. Child.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 2 2009 2:50 AM EDT

Let me try to explain this to you slowly and in a language you can understand. Nuhh ohhh it duhus knottt. More intelligently put, if you can only get one once a day and the server is down for like 30 minutes, then you would've missed BA that day anyway, even people in 6BA regens have to get on 3 times a day. I do wonder who you are telling to grow up. If you are talking about Ranger, well he's almost old enough to be your dad, and this is assuming you are telling the truth about your age. As for me well really? Really? You're going to tell me to grow up. I'll let you figure that one out on your own. CM me if you have problems figuring it out.

QBJohnnywas May 2 2009 3:22 AM EDT

Ranger, instead of flailing at the game, perhaps you should be looking to get a refund from the person you bought the NCB from if it has turned out faulty.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 2 2009 3:35 AM EDT

Lol, that's a good one JW.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 2 2009 7:38 AM EDT

Ouch, sorry Ranger. I definitely know what it's like. :(

{cb2}ShadeSlayer May 2 2009 9:39 AM EDT

I think there should be a button that says Let other people create a thread in your posts, or no don't let them... that solves the problem of flaming and crap.

Oh... and Ranger i'm sorry about your NCB :(

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] May 2 2009 9:47 AM EDT

"I think there should be a button that says Let other people create a thread in your posts, or no don't let them... that solves the problem of flaming and crap.

Oh... and Ranger i'm sorry about your NCB :("

on the surface that might seem like a better option until we realize that those with a dissenting viewpoint would just create their own thread then. this would create just as many posts in the forums but spread out among more threads. i don't feel that would be any better.

i never understand people getting upset with any post in their threads. if they totally disagree, then view it as a free bump! ; )

QBRanger May 2 2009 10:04 AM EDT

If you do not like my thread, just state so.

Do not post a rickroll or call me names.

Do it in an intelligent way with a lucid discussion.

Otherwise just shut up.

Soxjr May 2 2009 12:46 PM EDT

I did post a disention in an earlier post and did so in a very lucid and logical way, but I guess my post got cluttered over by the arguing.

I will post again for those that didn't see.

I personally lost at least 24 hours during my NUB from down times and other misfortunes throughout my NUB. I personally didn't miss barely any time during my NUB and went all out, but had a few days here and there where the server went down and didn't come back for many hours. So I feel for you in losing your last day or part of the day, and also the other times the server has been down during your NCB char, but I wouldn't say you are the only one and there really isn't anything that can be done. I am sure I asked in chat or maybe made a post about time lost and could it be recovered or added to the back end of my NUB and was told that everyone lost time with the downtime so it was fair in the end. So to get back on point here. I really feel for you Ranger, but not much can be done and just enjoying the fact of how far you have come since coming back should be reward enough :) Have a great end of your day and hopefully the rest works out better than the beginning.

QBRanger May 2 2009 12:47 PM EDT

Thanks Sox.

Well stated.

However I only had this NCB for 3 weeks and lost 24 hours of that time.

Quite a high proportion compared to what I have seen in others.

Cube May 2 2009 12:52 PM EDT

On average hopefully your downtime should be the same for your NCB as someone who has played since the beginning, in this case it's a bit disproportionate.

Yes, it sucks that it happened a lot to you in your last week. Do I think it needs to be fixed? It'd be nice. Do I think It's urgent? No, not really.

QBRanger May 2 2009 12:58 PM EDT

Certainly it is not urgent.

But as most things in CB, if it is not addressed when it happens, it gets lost in the ether of CB. Never to be thought of again.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 2 2009 12:58 PM EDT

Every time someone misses a day of their N*B, a lion cub in Africa commits suicide. ;)

Demigod May 2 2009 1:02 PM EDT

"Do I think it needs to be fixed? It'd be nice."

I've got to disagree with you. I absolutely don't want to see a precedent set where admins have to go back and compensate specific users for downtime. If the system were capable of avoiding the error in the first place, great, but adding back NCB time to only one person will just open a can of worms... or a can of hyper-vocal threads.

I don't see the error getting fixed across the board at any point, so even though Ranger got screwed, I think it's just time to move on. But that's just my two cents.

Rawr May 2 2009 1:06 PM EDT

"but adding back NCB time to only one person will just open a can of worms"

its not just ranger, its everyone under NUB/NCB, including yourself O.o

Cube May 2 2009 1:07 PM EDT

I think he was proposing some sort of automatic system. Easily done, extra free BA taken when you want within the next week or something like that.

QBRanger May 2 2009 1:08 PM EDT

Whoa there,

I noticed my NCB was over prematurely when the server came back up.

I addressed this ASAP and nothing was done.

This was not like what happened when the server went down a week or so ago.

This was a programming problem that could have been addressed when it happened.

I asked for nothing special at the time, other than fixing what was ongoing at the time.

Demigod May 2 2009 1:08 PM EDT

That's just it, if an admin indemnifies Ranger, I want mine, too. :)

Demigod May 2 2009 1:10 PM EDT

If it's a long-standing NCB bug, just add it to the growing bug list.

Cube May 2 2009 1:11 PM EDT

Soon it will be a colony -

Demigod May 2 2009 1:14 PM EDT

:) Remember that NS is back in town.

QBRanger May 2 2009 1:18 PM EDT

Obviously nothing will be done now.

I was hoping that someone would have been done at the TIME I noticed it.

But like most things, nothing is done quickly.

Hey, look at the BoE, obviously borked to high hell and still weeks later nothing.

And it is changing battles.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 2 2009 3:15 PM EDT

"still weeks"

You could almost say months by now.

AdminNightStrike May 20 2009 2:43 AM EDT

> But like most things, nothing is done quickly.

Please try to keep the negativity to a minimum. CB pays a pittance, and if it results in me slacking from actual employment, then that would be a Very Bad Thing.
