New topic: Insta down tattoos via the Blacksmith (in Debates)

Why not let tattoos be available in the TA for insta down?

At 50%.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 13 2009 4:17 PM EDT

Do you mean like DE, where the TA just like takes it to base for 50% profit?

QBRanger May 13 2009 4:18 PM EDT

Yes, you can DE it to any level you want. Getting 50% of the NW difference back.

If you want to go to base, that is your choice.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 13 2009 4:21 PM EDT

I don't know, I kindof like the way the tattoos price and insta down value are based on supply and demand. Tats also don't have to deal with the problems of the weapons, in that everyone uses tattoos, they're actually in really high demand. I'm not sure though, just off the cuff, I don't like it too much.

Lefty May 13 2009 4:29 PM EDT

This seems fine to me, but not at 50%. 15% NW would work better, since most tattoos insta down/up for about 20-25% now, unless it's a very high level.

15% AT MAX, and a yes from me.

[P]Mitt May 13 2009 4:31 PM EDT

I disagree. I like the status quo.

I'm fine with modifying the tattoo artist which allows you a choice to change tattoos: use up a base (or non-base) tattoo of the type you want to change into

or

Making the tattoo you want to change take a hit in level or networth when you change it with no other fee.

Cube May 13 2009 4:31 PM EDT

I can see where this could be useful. If you buy a medium size tattoo, but want to use it to ink another tattoo.

However, 50% sounds a little high for low end tattoos. Not sure the best way to set it.

Demigod May 13 2009 4:44 PM EDT

I don't see this one happening. But I do agree with masses that 50% is too high.

QBRanger May 13 2009 4:50 PM EDT

Then what about 25%.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 13 2009 4:53 PM EDT

Now that, I like, provides a standard for all lower tats. When some tats of like lower than 500k are barely worth more than base.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 13 2009 5:10 PM EDT

I wouldn't mind it at all.

QBRanger May 13 2009 5:18 PM EDT

My main thought was to get some of the less than 1m tattoos available for the TA.

Without having to spend 2-3M for it as someone just did.

Since the store offers 16%, 25% is not a bad little profit, but not too much to flood the market.

[P]Mitt May 13 2009 5:20 PM EDT

I think the only use for insta-ing down a tat (without flooding the economy with loose cash) is to not waste a high-level tattoo when you use it in the tattoo artist.

That being said, I'd say to cap the money given back to 16%, or the cost of selling to the store. Therefore you can insta it down as if you're selling it to the store, but keep the base tattoo as well.

Still, I'm against the whole thing. Being able to disenchant a tattoo will flood the economy with money. I think we should be looking for more cash drains at this point.

Lefty May 13 2009 5:23 PM EDT

"Since the store offers 16%, 25% is not a bad little profit, but not too much to flood the market. "

Personally, I'd say keep it the way it is then. If insta's from players sometimes don't run at 25%, then this would cause everyone to have to pay more, even at levels that aren't very high.

Lefty May 13 2009 5:25 PM EDT

"That being said, I'd say to cap the money given back to 16%, or the cost of selling to the store. Therefore you can insta it down as if you're selling it to the store, but keep the base tattoo as well. "

This is what I will agree with.
I'm in 100% agreement with Mitt and his points.

QBRanger May 13 2009 5:33 PM EDT

I am for anything the community wants to help generate more base familiars for the TA.

If 16% ok.

However, note that currently a 2.3M NW tattoo is close to being sold for NW.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 13 2009 5:34 PM EDT

Yeah, I told that fellow that he was getting hosed for that deal, and that 25% + base was the most he should go.

QBRanger May 13 2009 5:36 PM EDT

I am working with him to try to get another at a far more reasonable cost.

There is such a thing as overcharging new players, I hate that.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 13 2009 5:40 PM EDT

Indeed, he hardly knew what he was signing into.

Wasp May 14 2009 5:01 PM EDT

This is a good idea. Would bring in a bit more income for NCB teams. When they finish they can disenchant their tat and use the cash for the BA for the next ncb : )

Sickone May 14 2009 6:16 PM EDT

Only if you also allow insta-ups at the blacksmith :)

QBRanger May 14 2009 6:32 PM EDT

I think insta ups is a really really bad idea.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 14 2009 6:34 PM EDT

Maybe not, if it's at 500% or something.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 14 2009 6:34 PM EDT

Okay, okay, it's a really bad idea.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 14 2009 6:51 PM EDT

I don't really like it. Instaing up anyway.

Rawr May 14 2009 6:52 PM EDT

Whats the difference between insta-ing up and just using the bsmith?

Demigod May 14 2009 7:03 PM EDT

It's the idea of being able to buy EXP that's bad. Insta-up or -down with other players is just swapping. Doing that at the blacksmith is creating new EXP for money.

[P]Mitt May 14 2009 9:01 PM EDT

Rawr, you can't blacksmith a tattoo.
