Is it possible for me to see whether or not I have gotten the Breastplate of Expertise through the bonus item program?
I think I haven't yet and would like to buy one, but would it then be $6 or $11?

I don't think it is possible, but it won't let you get one through the donator screen if you already got it previously.
Go special items screen, then click on supporter status tab then donate for yourself. It will cost 6.

Through the special items page is $11 but if you go buy supportship for yourself then it is the $6 one.

I won't be able to donate for myself, I'm working on it though :)
You cannot tell this by inspection. You can try to make the donation, and see if it gets rejected.
