Why do people do this: (in General)

Spawn a Steel Brig, when it is easy to get one via the store.

Is it to be different?

Is it to finally win an auction?

Is it to stick your nose up at all the conformists that follow the
BMVG?

Why is there even a choice for a Steel Brig and for a compound bow as both spawn via the store? As do lesser tattoos.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 26 2009 8:55 PM EDT

Spawn the brig and sell it to the store for more than you paid...

QBRanger May 26 2009 8:56 PM EDT

Hmmm,

If they really needed that 8k so badly, I am sure someone would pay them that much for their BM vote.

Lord Bob May 26 2009 9:19 PM EDT

"If they really needed that 8k so badly, I am sure someone would pay them that much for their BM vote."

Really? Great!

My current vote is for sale for 8k.

TheHatchetman May 26 2009 9:25 PM EDT

"Is it to stick your nose up at all the conformists that follow the
BMVG?"

I switch sides :) When I feel an item is needed, I'll throw my vote in the ring to help spawn it. When it's the 4th pair of EBs or Corn in the last 8-10 spawns just for the sake of lowering prices, viva la Brig! ^_^

Lord Bob May 26 2009 9:35 PM EDT

I'm with Hatch.

And by the way, my vote is still for sale!

TheCakeIsTheTruth May 26 2009 9:36 PM EDT

My vote is also for sale, half price 1 day only!! Only 4k, get it before it's gone! gone! gone!!

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] May 26 2009 10:53 PM EDT

I'm with Hatch too. Nice girly Asian emoticon too, Hatch. :P

Shikamaru May 26 2009 11:09 PM EDT

^ burn :P

QBRanger May 26 2009 11:15 PM EDT

Sry, but I will not buy a NUB sellouts vote.

Others might cross the line though.

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] May 26 2009 11:16 PM EDT

Would you buy my vote then Ranger? <3 :P

QBRanger May 26 2009 11:18 PM EDT

This thread is not for me buying votes or not buying them.

I am surprised you asked. I did not think you needed 8k that badly, perhaps I was mistaken and you should fight smarter.

Neo Japan May 26 2009 11:28 PM EDT

My vote is 10k, 10k for a BM vote

QBRanger May 26 2009 11:30 PM EDT

I will ask an admin to fine, heavily, the next person that spams this thread with an offer to sell their vote.

Make your own thread to sell it.

Lord Bob May 26 2009 11:32 PM EDT

"Sry, but I will not buy a NUB sellouts vote."

Who's an NUB sell out now?

"My vote is 10k, 10k for a BM vote"

I like that as well.

Lord Bob May 26 2009 11:35 PM EDT

"I will ask an admin to fine, heavily, the next person that spams this thread with an offer to sell their vote."

Whatever. This is a stupid thread anyway. People can vote for whatever they want, for the reasons they want. Conformity to the BMVG is not law in this game.

QBRanger May 26 2009 11:38 PM EDT

Of course they can.

I was asking why they did. And got a honest reply from novice.

You are the one spamming this thread offering to sell your vote. I never asked for your reply.

Lord Bob May 26 2009 11:45 PM EDT

I'm not interested in what you asked for. It's a public thread.

You're upset because people used their vote to do something you disagree with. Why is that not surprising, coming from you.

There are plenty of reasons to vote for the Steel Brig. Protest, humor, boredom, refusal to aid competition, pointing out the flaws in the current system, etc. If people want to vote for it, let them. They're not required to follow anyone's lead.

QBRanger May 26 2009 11:49 PM EDT

Yet again.

I had a curiosity why people voted for the Steel Brig, given it can be bought in the store. I could find no logical reason someone would vote for it. Novice pointed out one that sort of is a real reason. You, sir, fail to do the same.

If you dislike my thread, then stay off it.

But do not piggyback on it to offer something for sale. That is a violation of the rules of this forum.

But please do not use the forums to state your anger at what I have to type. It belittles you as a person.

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] May 26 2009 11:52 PM EDT

R.I.P. The Humor In This Thread.

PearsonTritonRaveshaw May 26 2009 11:55 PM EDT

/me is belittled as a person. =P

PearsonTritonRaveshaw May 26 2009 11:56 PM EDT

No but in all seriousness, if you really want to know, ask IntoExile or Mitt why they voted for it.

Lord Bob May 26 2009 11:57 PM EDT

"You, sir, fail to do the same."

Funny, I'm pretty sure I gave several reasons in my last post.

Please Ranger, start reading threads.

Oh, and you were the first to mention the idea of paying for votes. I just took it to it's logical conclusion.

However you are right. I will stop soliciting on non FS threads. It doesn't mean I retract my offer though.

"But please do not use the forums to state your anger at what I have to type. It belittles you as a person."

Please. All you have been doing lately is posting derogatory rants aimed at people doing things you don't like. This thread included. Now to be fair, I've agreed with a ton of it, but your delivery is very poor. So don't even try to play that game with me.

Lord Bob May 26 2009 11:58 PM EDT

"R.I.P. The Humor In This Thread."

Sorry. I was actually trying to be funny in my first post (though I was also serious). Some people just don't like that, I guess.

[P]Mitt May 27 2009 12:16 AM EDT

I vote for the Steel Brig because of Nash Equilibrium.

If I like the masses, my vote is useless - I don't fight, I don't trade items to make money, no: all I do is forge. Therefore, I don't benefit from voting with the masses. If I vote for a steel brig, I can make a profit: 8k. More than I would make if I voted with the masses.

Plus, I'm stockpiling minor rares (like steel brigs, GoM, lesser Tats) so that whenever I do quit (if I do), I can give lots of new players lots of minor rares.

Lord Bob May 27 2009 12:23 AM EDT

I agree with Mitt as well. I've voted Steel Brig in the past because it is one item that doesn't threaten my team, and I needed nothing else at the time. If I need something, I'll vote for it. If I don't, and for some reason I feel particularly bad about wasting my vote that week, I'll go Steel Brig, just for fun.

kevlar May 27 2009 12:43 AM EDT

"Sorry. I was actually trying to be funny in my first post (though I was also serious). Some people just don't like that, I guess."

Some people really do.

Wizard'sFirstRule May 27 2009 6:07 AM EDT

in theory, the profit of spawning a Steel Brig would get eroded under the auction system. You would bid up to the sell to store price to maximise your chance at the profit, and everyone do the same. Result: Price of Steel Brig under blackmarket auctioneer = store buy price.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] May 27 2009 6:12 AM EDT

heck there are weeks when I forget to vote or don't feel like it. Then just voting the steel brig for that 8k profit.

TheHatchetman May 27 2009 8:56 AM EDT

Icanhas a feeling there'd be a lot less flak if the same thread had a different author?

""Sry, but I will not buy a NUB sellouts vote."

Who's an NUB sell out now? "

Only one reply from a NUB in this entire thread ~_^

"R.I.P. The Humor In This Thread."

While the first reference can be construed as humorous, I can assure you, Ranger wasn't the only one rolling his eyes when this thread had more replies trying to sell votes than on the topic at hand.

AdminShade May 27 2009 12:08 PM EDT

Mitt:

Steel Brigandine 397

I wouldn't count this as a minor rare though...

AdminNightStrike May 27 2009 12:31 PM EDT

Just a friendly reminder that FS posts belong in FS.....

QBOddBird May 27 2009 12:40 PM EDT

"Is it to be different?

Is it to finally win an auction?

Is it to stick your nose up at all the conformists that follow the
BMVG? "

Yes to all of these. Yes, I've helped spawn 5-6 brigs in the past.

Pwned May 27 2009 12:55 PM EDT

its only 4 votes, wouldn't it be funny if everyone voted for it? that would be awesome!

Phaete May 27 2009 1:44 PM EDT

Now i get it, and i am convinced to imitate as well.

QBRanger May 27 2009 2:14 PM EDT

I really need no specific items, however it would be funny to spawn 10 of these.

Neo Japan May 27 2009 2:15 PM EDT

you went from being upset that they were spawned, to wanting 10 of em spawned......

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] May 27 2009 2:16 PM EDT

if non-conformists, in their drive to not conform, all end up doing the same thing...

QBRanger May 27 2009 2:17 PM EDT

Never said I wanted 10 to spawn, just that it would be funny.

I still think the overall help to the community is a better usage of these votes.
