Combo archery/VA suggestion (in General)

Drop bow damage by about 25-30%, make archery boost it back up to full, and make VA a skill that also works on ranged.

What's the point? Archers are made to kill in ranged. This prolongs the fight so they go into melee, which is counter productive.

AdminTal Destra May 29 2009 10:23 PM EDT

the point was to make you choose between VA if it became a skill and archery. going off him, archery would give back the damage that you lost

QBOddBird May 29 2009 10:24 PM EDT

I vote we make VA an EO, so that we can use BL with it _and_ it can't be dispelled. This is the optimal solution, no?

OP.

Forgot to mention, also remove the CTH/PTH penalties for not having archery.

Hatchy cast Vampiric Aura on all enemy minions [>.<]

Like that? :P

PearsonTritonRaveshaw May 29 2009 11:02 PM EDT

lol that would be weird... An EO that benefits your opponent. =P

QBRanger May 29 2009 11:09 PM EDT

I would certainly love an archery VA, however it would be just way too powerful.

It is one of the ways melee tanks can compensate vs archers, the ability to have VA in either a spell or a weapon.

I personally think the RoS with a melee only tank using VA is a very powerful character, especially on a 4 minion character.

QBJohnnywas May 29 2009 11:26 PM EDT

Archery and VA? No thanks. Even if you drop damage you're still talking a whole load of extra HP given to an archer before melee kicks in. Add some of the huge bows up near the top and you've got characters with near unstoppable - and undispellable remember - amounts of HP.

Which is why we don't have a ranged VA in the first place.

This is needed because? This is not overpowered because?

three4thsforsaken May 30 2009 12:43 AM EDT

Why archery?

Wizard'sFirstRule May 30 2009 8:17 AM EDT

I don't mind having VA as an EO, I will just train base and equip something that reduce EO.

QBRanger May 30 2009 8:45 AM EDT

VA in ranged in any form will be exceptionally overpowered.

With or without an archery skill.

Having VA in ranged takes away the major defense against archers-GA.

Yes, one can train DM to combat GA, however DM prevents AMF. Having VA will allow archers to train at least a base AMF and not worry about GA as much.

Once you get an archer to melee, especially with decay, you should be able to win. With VA as a skill things very unbalanced.
