I couldn't find my exact question in all the search answers I got...
I'm not sure if I understand what "lessers will stay lessers" means.
If I had a big lesser tattoo and bought a base normal tattoo, could I ink the new one into a normal, or would it be transformed into a lesser during inking?
Man, this is so-o-o complicated :-) And so many complaints about the consumption of tattoos...
Wouldn't it be simpler to just charge us like it seems it was before...? like an average of past auctions prices plus a certain interest or something...

You are not able to ink that lesser into a normal.
Also you are not able to ink that lesser using a normal. Both items would stay the same.
only lesser + lesser and normal + normal go together. :)
Basic idea is you cannot cross them over, they are what they are and cannot be converted up or down only sideways.
Meaning:
Type of Lesser Tattoo into another Type of Lesser Tattoo
Example: Lesser Fire Familiar -into- Lesser Ice Familiar
Type of Normal/Regular Tattoo into another Type of Normal/Regular Tattoo
Example: Electric Familiar -into- Steel Familiar
