buggy clan PR cap: solution (in General)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 9 2009 4:43 PM EDT

I've seen time and time again where the reported mpr available for clans is incorrect. This has led to hurt feelings, clans breaking up, and general disorder for the clan system.

I think the mpr cap for adding a char should be removed. We already have a penalty for being over the limit so why are we additional restricted. If the penalty isn't harsh enough to prevent clans from being unbeatable then raise it.

I'm tired of losing people or having folks forced to NCB (at the low low price of 120m CB for ba) just to keep the clan intact. Please do something to fix this issue.

So what is to prevent all the top players from getting together like BR used to be.

What would you have as a counter to the MPR limit?

Perhaps a limit of 5 characters max. With a bonus to those with less total MPR?

AdminShade June 9 2009 4:45 PM EDT

I somewhat agree to this. However, know that when removing this, it could lead to the top 5 MPR characters being able to be in 1 clan also...

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 9 2009 4:58 PM EDT

That's where the penalty comes into play, having a group on a huge unbeatable chars would have such a steep penalty that it'd be hard to hold down the top.

blackshadowshade June 9 2009 5:01 PM EDT

The clan penalty is certainly pretty steep. Before Zenai left us, the penalty was around 12% CPs. Without Zenai, the penalty is back down to 4%.

I'd be all for removing the cap. The penalties are CERTAINLY enough to level the playing field.

AdminShade June 9 2009 5:05 PM EDT

Even with 5 players, or rather 5 characters, without a MPR cap could still very well be overpowered.

The reason for this is that hardly anyone would be able to beat anyone of the top 5. 5 times full BA usage every 24 hours will create a huge amount of Clan Points while generating hardly any negative points.

Or am I thinking strange now?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 9 2009 5:17 PM EDT

the point is that the penalties would balance that out
if the top 5 mpr chars were in a clan together the penalties could be as high as 50%

blackshadowshade June 9 2009 5:20 PM EDT

You've also got to remember that the top players have 6/20 regen and less buyable BA.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 9 2009 8:45 PM EDT

This really does matter... I swear it's a simple fix for long standing problem

Please help!

QBRanger June 9 2009 8:49 PM EDT

Maybe I do not understand.

What would be the determining factor in how many people can or cannot join a clan?

And..

What would you use to determine the penalty?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 9 2009 8:50 PM EDT

I'm talking about using the already existing penalty to clan points and eliminating the hard PR cap (which is broken anyway)

BHT June 9 2009 9:02 PM EDT

What does MPR rank have to do with getting clan points?

blackshadowshade June 10 2009 5:47 PM EDT

Has anyone done any research on the clan point penalty?

If it helps, now that I've left the Warlords of Contest, they're back up to a 1% bonus.

Colonel Custard [The Knighthood] June 10 2009 7:31 PM EDT

If the Top 5 characters are all stuck in the same clan, they'll be getting crap for Challenge bonuses, anyway, since they won't be fighting each other. I think the difference in that area is enough to negate the 8% increase in clan rewards over what the average clan gets.

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] June 11 2009 1:22 PM EDT

Help fix it!!!!

The max PR you can accept is 4,080,876.
Koyaanisqatsi
Summary
Score 5,812,075
Power 3,948,487
MPR 3,948,487

Still can't fit... and that is with me holding a 1 pr/mpr char in Koy's place... Help me please... by all means I should be able to get my char in... and that would only be 5 members in our clan Y_Y -- What, should I only have 4 in the clan?

QBRanger June 11 2009 1:37 PM EDT

Duh,

None of the top 5 characters currently get a challenge bonus to chat about.

I have gotten at most 7% from LA and 12% from novice when I could beat them. But after a few battles, their scores lower enough to lose that bonus.

Draco,
I am sorry you cannot join your clan. This is a problem ever since CB2 started, and would also like to see a change.
