Question about hoc & SG (in General)

dup June 11 2009 6:55 AM EDT

would the -5 armor from HoC reduce shocking grasp damage by 5%?

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 11 2009 6:56 AM EDT

thats actually a really good question. I don't think it would but i think someone will need to test it to tell you.

QBJohnnywas June 11 2009 7:18 AM EDT

No, it's a straight 2% reduction to DD level. Although the extra hit you get makes up for the reduction pretty well.

dup June 11 2009 7:19 AM EDT

i'm talking the SG damage TO the person wearing the helm

QBJohnnywas June 11 2009 7:24 AM EDT

Aha, sorry need some coffee. Negative values are equivalent to base in this case I believe, if the HoC is all they are wearing. So they're acting as if they've zero AC.

Of course without coffee I may be wrong...;)

If your total armor is less than 0, it is treated as 0.

Otherwise it is treated as your total armor.

AdminNightStrike June 11 2009 11:42 AM EDT

To be more accurate, a *net* AC of <0 is treated as 0. The HOC isn't zeroed before the summation.

To answer the question in the original post: no it will not reduce the damage by 5%.
