Perhaps people are saving more with the lowered rewards.

I frequently try to buy an item I see going for far lower than expected market value.

I see Talion doing that all the time.

With people doing just this, again why is Mr. C needed?

You can 100% count on Chairman to do that, you cannot 100% count on players to.

See Jira, my trick on selling items is to make a thread with the title ITA, In The Auctions, and then bump it about six hours before the auction ends so that way people see it easier. Of course, the fact that I've already burned through the money I made on a BoM is filled with Grrr. >.<
