The Big Bad Bell has tolled out the chime of war. AT&T has begun blocking access to /b/ on 4chan. Even the slimy underbelly of the internet deserves better than to be simply null routed out of existence.
Despite the fact it's beginning with the worst of the worst this does reflect on the power of tier 1 providers in censoring the internet. Even if this event somehow blows over without serious a event and media coverage it still is a historical moment in internet history.

There is no way this will go unchallenged

It will be interesting to see how this evolves.
The /b/tards are already pitching a mighty fit with all the fury of a thousand raging angsty teens.

well I went to find more out about this and googled "ATT blocking services" and my work comp wouldn't allow me to open the site because somewhere the term "pornography" was used on the page...
okey went around that and googled "ATT/ch4", couldn't pull that up because somewhere the word "firearms" was used on that page..
okey googled ATT and internet service and couldn't pull that up because somewhere on the page the term "gamble" was used..
I don't know anything about this alleged "censorship", my work comp wont let me google it
I don't think I'll link to anything here...
4chan is a message board, /b/ is the section of that message board responsible for Anonymous. If you're a cat abuser, a scientologist, or Sarah Palin you already know who they are.

Most of that post is pretty safe... please don't click without understanding that even a discussion of /b/ might include things you don't want to read or see.

Yeah, there's good reason they picked /b/ as their target for access blockage...
Still, as novice says, even /b/ doesn't deserve it. No censorship!

Adi - check status.4chan,
http://s6.invisionfree.com/ProjectATT/index.php as well
the actual board will be difficult to find the raid threads on due to massive thread spam.
Reports are still coming in that this is a response to floods coming from the /b/ webservers ip. It's possible that flood using the spoofed ip have cause ATT to respond with a block.
if you've never heard of 4chan consider yourself blessed...

Seen the same news Ranger posted elsewhere. In some ways, it's funny how protective we are of our free speech.
