We were talking in chat on the different styles of people typing.
I happen to use every finger and use them correctly to shift and whatnot, and there are hunters and peckers out there.
How do you type?

Why not make a full poll then? Or don't you want to because nobody seems to like 'my' polls? :p

I type with almost all of my 10 fingers btw :)
Then make a poll, Mr. Admin
I'm a proud hunter and pecker. I can still do around 40wpm and have no need to use the spell and grammar check as I know I've typed 100% correctly without slipping to the wrong key as is common with touch typists.

I type normally with every finger.
But on my cell phone I've only got a numpad(t9), but I type faster on that than with say a blackberry's keyboard. Still trying to decide if I actually want to get a phone with a keyboard because of this.
I switched to a Motorola Q9 Blackberry, and its soooooo much better having the full keyboard
Nuclear method, hit every key at once. Works like a charm.

I dont know what you would call my method of typing... i use my middle and index fingers to type and thumb to space... i rarely throw in a pinky for a shift. Wow its kinda odd... never really thought about it before.
I use my two fingers, though I can type fast with my two fingers. I've had people point out I only use two fingers, but I don't care.

Hunt and peck. That's pretty non-standard for a computer science guy.

60 words a minute on the typewriter. Best thing my Mom did was insist I take a typing class in high school.

Every finger but my pinkies.
I use probably 4-6 of my fingers to type but I am an honorary Hunter and Pecker.
I don't really pay much attention to what fingers I use to type. Bur after typing this out, I can see that I use all fingers of my left hand (pinky for shift, thumb for space bar, and rest for random letters on the left-ish side), and don't use all of the fingers on my left hand (I use my pinky for backspace, and my index and middle fingers for typing. The thumb and ring don't get used much, if at all).
I can still type pretty darn fast, though. If I'm typing something already written and am not going back to fix errors, I can go upwards of 80 WPM on a good day. If I actually fix errors, I can manage to go about 70 WPM.
Not that the full speed actually gets used much, since a lot of my typing is programming. :P

my secretary does the typing...
I can't be expected to risk carpal tunnel that might jeopardize my tee times now can I?
