why am i in lorien? (in General)

gols090 [forge of me] August 26 2009 8:34 PM EDT

As I've read on wiki, Lorien is for accounts 6+ months old. Since my NUB isn't over yet, I've obviously not reached that threshold. Yet, I'm in Lorien.

Oh yeah, mort's under the top 5 scores for 2 minions in Lorien too, even though his account is even younger than mine.

???

I'm in it too, is it based on days or months?

If you were transferred a character that is old enough to be in lorien then that is the usual reason why you are there

gols090 [forge of me] August 26 2009 10:30 PM EDT

Someone said maybe MPR has an effect on it, but Lefty's char has quite a bit more MPR than me, and acc has almost the same join date. He is still listed under Rivendell as well as Lorien. I'm not found in Rivendell at all.

gols090 [forge of me] August 26 2009 10:30 PM EDT

I didn't get any chars transferred to me, ever.

Demigod August 26 2009 10:32 PM EDT

::waves hand::

There are other NUB characters in there as well. Me, for example.

gols090 [forge of me] August 26 2009 10:33 PM EDT

Which makes me wonder even more.

The hobbits had to flee the shire due to a sudden, unforseen plague. Rivendell became infested with these little plague ridden vermin in just a matter of days, trying to flee the plagues area of origin. On the general order of the new king..Rivendell had to be quarantined and all hobbits kept secure. Those lucky enough to evacuate before the borders were shut down fled to the safety of Lorien. You all should consider yourselves lucky for being able to get out in time or you would have risked the chance of infection. Any hobbits trying to cross the border into Lorien have been killed on sight and their remains put on display as a warning to the others.

It might be 4 months instead. The wiki isn't fact; it's user written, so it does have errors.

AdminShade August 27 2009 1:07 AM EDT

That specific information in the wiki however is based on what Jonathan told us sometime.

Can an example of >4 months while in Shire be found?

if not, then it's

<4 months = Shire
>4 months = Lorien

Why do we even have realms anymore?

I thought they were so new people could see how they were doing vs other new people.

Now, in 2 months a NUB has a 1.5-2M character with a 4-5M score. Something some veterans do not even have.

Cube August 27 2009 1:15 AM EDT

You're missing Rivendell in there, but point taken.

Burton happens to be exactly on the cusp of 4 months and in Rivendell, that seems like a better test than any.

AdminShade August 27 2009 1:17 AM EDT

Also, NightStrike said he'd be looking into the realms, to perhaps add a few.

Cube August 27 2009 1:17 AM EDT

I take back the 'exactly' as his NUB ended on the 27th so I assumed wrong, but well 4 days isn't that long either.

Demigod August 27 2009 7:23 AM EDT

The other issue at hand is that someone could be in two realms at the same time for the same stats.

AdminShade August 27 2009 9:28 AM EDT

Demi: everyone who is in Gondor also sees the stats for people in Shire...

The other way around, you don't immediately see Gondor stats while being in Shire.

gols090 [forge of me] August 27 2009 9:41 AM EDT

That's not the issue. As of now, mort is listed under 2 minions in Lorien as well as 2 minions in Rivendell. Which realm is he in? His account page says Rivendell, so why does he have a rank in Lorien? I've been listed under two realms at the same time before as well, and I'd guess everyone nearing the the borders between realms has experienced it too.
This is all under character standings.

Cube August 27 2009 12:12 PM EDT

All realm pages show people from lower realms as well.

Everyone can be found under the Gondor Statistics.

Everyone less than one year (yes, even if they are in the Shire) will be under Lorien.

Demigod August 27 2009 1:25 PM EDT

The theory of graduating to the realm in 4 months instead of 6 months might be accurate, then. We should be able to confirm easily by just asking NUBS in the 4th month which realm they default to.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] August 27 2009 1:38 PM EDT

if you start a character rename (don't finish it) the system will tell you which realm you are in, btw.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] August 27 2009 1:39 PM EDT

it also shows on your member page and gols is definitely in lorien, not just showing in lorien but in a lower one.
