If you want the Tulwar removed, think... (in General)

... about the Whip first.

The thing however is, I think that the whip is listed in the tutorial, so that should then be changed (only a small change I think).
I know Jonathan and NightStrike aren't too keen on removing items from the game but if they would decide to make a new item (or several) which would improve the damage or to hit of long bladed weapons, or make axe like weapons a new class with it's own item, then this weapon would surely die disgracefully.

The second however:

Whip:
Amount in game: 3924
Average NW: $3,287
Avg price - NW: $39,974

It is the single (by a long stretch) most abundant weapon in the game, but also the smallest weapon. It has the lowest Average Net Worth of all melee weapons in the game...

kill this disgrace weapon, For the world sake!

blackshadowshade August 30 2009 8:05 AM EDT

I vote to change all whips into daggers.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] August 30 2009 8:20 AM EDT

The Whip is awesome, I vote that the base is increased from 9 to 99 :)

QBOddBird August 30 2009 12:24 PM EDT

Make it replace the RoBF, give us the Whip of Balrog Flame, it's more fitting and in-line with the LoTR theme!

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 30 2009 12:29 PM EDT

That is actually a pretty good idea OB. Change the Base damaged and give it effects similar to the RoBF would be a nice change/addition to the game.

AdminShade August 30 2009 12:48 PM EDT

That does not solve the 'problem' however. In my opinion it is better to create a new weapon then. But that is besides the point, I only want to get rid of the Whip.

The Whip is needed, alongside the Dagger, for freshly created characters.

The Tulwar can't be used by starting characters, and along with all the other middle weapons no longer (and hasn't for a very long time...) have a place in CB.

Whips are actually superior to Daggers for new characters. For an extra 2CB you get n extra 5 Base Damage.

Remove Daggers, Whips can cater for new characters perfectly. ;)

AdminShade August 30 2009 3:23 PM EDT

Remove Whips and give Daggers a small boost instead?

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] August 30 2009 3:32 PM EDT

If you remove whips I want compensation for mine A Whip [9x300] (+184) NW: $10,466,527

Unappreciated Misnomer August 30 2009 3:50 PM EDT

Remove em both, Sabre ftw! (12 base damage and can be bought with the $100 a char starts with)

"and if you remove daggers, i would like to be compensated for my 20mil dagger tyvm o_o"

I'm fairly certain any time something is removed, users are compensated for it. Only example that comes to mind is when ammo was removed, and I got like 280k for all my stashed shots/bolts/arrows ^_^

OB For Armourer !!!!

Dark Dreky August 30 2009 5:57 PM EDT

I say introduce reintroduce whips and allow them a chance to trip or disarm characters!!!!!

YES!!!

kevlar August 30 2009 6:13 PM EDT

I thought all the daggers already went into Shade's back? :)

Lord Bob August 30 2009 6:57 PM EDT

I think the whip is one of the few items that can be retooled. Take a cue from Dragon Warrior and let it do SoD-style splash damage to the rest of the team. Upgrade the base damage by just a wee bit and you make it a good supporting weapon for enchanters or meat shields.

Renaming it to A Balrog Whip is a good idea as well.
