168 BA fought fast without a botchck (in Off-topic)

hey, Admin, did somebody disable the botchck system? I just went straight through my 160 BA and the 8 additional ones, expecting a botcheck to crop up any moment, indeed, fighting fast and furious to goad the system into sending me one, but all to no avail.

p.s.: i use the botcheck words as a kinda urban legend horoscope for personal situations, lol; so its like buying the newspaper and finding the fortune-telling pages missing :)

chuck: bot checks are random.

This means: sometimes you get a lot of them and sometimes you get hardly any of them.

awww, maybe we ought to have a separate sub-page where the player can get all the botchecks he wants, perhaps it can be a subscription supporter item ;)

after all, fortune telling is big business, if CB's botchecks work for me, there's no reason they shouldn't for at least 10 percent of the other suckers out there, and here's a nifty income stream Jon can tap.

Your case is VERY rare i assume. I doubt the system is completely random, or it would be possible to never get a botcheck.

to be honest, chucks case is hardly rare. I have seen a lot of posts regarding bot check rarity or abundance in the past few months.

Every time I keep on saying the same that it is all just randomness, sometimes you are in luck of having less (up to hardly any) and sometimes you are out of luck and have a lot of them (up to a bot check every few fights).

They've been made rarer a couple months ago too, IIRC.

I do think it is affected by how fast you fight though. If you fight slowly you have a slightly less chance of getting a bot check I believe. But it is still all random.

Nem, even that is not true I think. I have tried to replicate a few of the scenarios people have put up and fighting fast or slow did not have a unique way of an increase or decrease.

Also, yes I know they were made more rare, however that does not mean you will always get less if you are 'chosen' to be monitored for a short while (being getting loads of them for a bit)

If you get a botcheck on average in say 30 battles, then the chance of *not* getting a botcheck in a single random battle is 1-1/30, or about 96.7%. The chance of not getting a botcheck in 168 battles in a row is (1-1/30)^168, or about .33%.

(I have no idea if "1 in 30" is accurate...)

I think I remember somewhere that the botcheck rate is about 2.5%
