Chat Auto-refreshes (in General)

Hello all,


My chat refreshes on it's own every 10 minutes or so. I don't know what causes this, but could see how this would be.. bothersome to those having a conversation.

I have Java fully updated.
I have firefox 3.5.3
I have a bad connection.

I've been told that the bad connection could be the reason, but wanted to verify that there is nothing that I can do.

I have two computers running Vista and XP. The Vista comp can't stay in chat for long either, but the XP one can stay up for hours on end.

Hehe, not uninstalling an OS, and getting XPx64 because of CB, sorry :p

If you're dropping connection, then yes, you'll refresh chat.

Click on your settings link and uncheck: "Enable chat (If chat is turned on but does not work," until you get it sorted otherwise a chat op will kick and eventually kill you out of chat.

Try playing CB on IE.

G_Bee, I've been dropping connection for a good 3 years now, not really up to me.. does this mean that I'll just never be able to use chat lol?..

In a few days we wont notice you entering and getting welcomed, I think it'll be less of a thing then but not sure...

The connection could be the biggest problem, you might be able to contact your Internet Service Provider to have it solved?

Pretty sure it's a combination of bad service from my ISP and ancient wireless.

I'll try and get a newer router soon, and see if that fixes it up.
