Question: do NCB benifit from your older character (in General)

Nehemiah September 13 2009 9:13 PM EDT

I just started a NCB recently, but i am still getting a BA regen rate of 7ba instead of 10ba on him, now my question is this : is the new NCB getting the bonuses of having 7ba regen, or is he taking a loss?

God bless you!

Jesus Loves you!

Loss.

thanks for the quick response :)

Yes Retire it now now now and did you start with a full 1600 BA or did you go at it straight? If so stop retire both buy BA until you accumulate all 1600 BA and start on a Big EXP Time.

Sickone September 13 2009 9:15 PM EDT

That's why usually people that run NCBs either retire or downright sell their higher-MPR characters before starting.

no i didnt start out with 1600ba, the BA are too expensive for me at this time, as i dont have all the items i need, but thanks for the suggestion tho.

Retire all your characters.

Make a new one with just 1 minion at 1 MPR.

Buying BA will be really cheap, like 100 each.

Stock up on 1600 BA.

Plan on your opponents while your buying BA.

Start NCB on beginning of xp time.

Fight as fast and and smart as possible and see your growth outpace anything you have done so far.

isnt NCB only once every 6 months? if i retire my char, do i get a refund on my NCB?

QBRanger September 13 2009 9:47 PM EDT

This was changed some time ago so that you can only have 1 NCB ACTIVE at a time.

Oh! Didn't know that! ;)

"This was changed some time ago so that you can only have 1 NCB ACTIVE at a time."

Really ? That's news for me... I thought it's still "create one every 6 months".
I don't remember seeing that in any changelog post and I'm having trouble searching for it.
Can you at least remember roughly when this was changed ?

QBJohnnywas September 14 2009 6:17 AM EDT

I don't recall ever seeing a changelog about it, but it's been that way for quite some time now. So long as the bonus char is retired - only one active bonus is the idea - you can create a new one at anytime.

QBJohnnywas September 14 2009 6:23 AM EDT

It's not listed in the changes in the Wiki, but I'm pretty sure I knew about it around the same time the hard cap on BA stored was introduced. So that's nearly 3 years ago.

What happens if you retire a NCB character, make a new one, then ask for the old character to be unretired? (Not that they'd be much point... ;) )

QBJohnnywas September 14 2009 6:30 AM EDT

You could try it out yourself. Create an NCB, retire it. Create a new one. Wait for the option to unretire the old char in about four days. Watch as a large black hole appears to swallow CB.

From the new character page:

"(Users whose New User Bonus has expired may apply for a similar Character Bonus that applies to only one character at a time. The Character Bonus only affects XP gained in battle.)"

Already on it! ;)
