uninstalling windows. (in Off-topic)

I have windows xp on bootcamp, and I want to repartition my drive. If I were to just kill the windows xp side and reinstall this would this cause problems?

In other words, I'm wondering if I need to de-authorize my windows xp from my computer before I kill the partition in order for it to work. I've been having trouble looking this up because I don't know if it is a problem. I remember running into a problem like this in the past where borrowing some else's version of windows xp.

if you repartition the drive you need to format it afterwards. The drive is clean meaning a reinstall would cause no problem

Henk is right you should have no problem on this as it is your registered copy. If you do run into a problem all you have to do is call Microsoft and explain the situation (I have done this before from a Mobo shorting out on me)they will give you a new Temporary product key that will make it work right away. When you go in for product registration all you have to do is put in your own product key and viola` everything is all good.

Of course there is also what I call the 6 month rule, if you have not reloaded in 6 months you are good to go. For a long time that is what I did just to clean out my hard drive. I'd save all my pertinent information and game saves on a backup hard drive then I would Format and reload windows every 6 Months.
