QB or not QB? [non-QB edition] (in Debates)

That is the question!

What does the QB, or Quarter Blender, title mean to you?
Would you like to see the QB election process revived?
Does the QB title as it is mean the same thing it did in CB1/early CB2?

What changes, if any, would you like to see to the QB?

Yes, instead of taking in contestants by a questionnaire and by nomination I would give that honour to the admins instead of the community. IMO admins are better qualified to see if someone actually made an impact of difference.

No QB back in CB1 did actually mend something, I feel that QB in CB2 is more of a popularity contest then a contest for players that did the most for CB in the last quarter.

A year tag instead of an always tag

1: mostly popularity, but this popularity can be gained through pretty much anything, along with accomplishments in the game.
2: revived yes, but with a half yearly or yearly election.
3: no, less players and more QBs means it is 'unbalanced'

4: yearly QB election

in the past i had wanted it revived but have changed my mind to wanting to just leave it dead.

the reasoning is that the devs have a certain amount of energy and time for the game. with the amount we have been getting from them of late, as they both have other responsibilities, i think that all energy should be saved for the actual game.

if in the future we get back to regular updates, bug-fixes and added content in the form of new supporter items and game mechanics and the devs need something else to do, then we should look at a revival of the qb title.

Meh. Either way, it doesn't mean anything to the game itself.

Yes: nothing.

If it comes back, make it a quarterly title, not permanent. The last QB can be back up for re-election, but only one QB at a time.

Isn't the point of the term QUARTER Blender that we have a new one every QUARTER?

I can sum it up in one line :

Shouldn't be too hard to find someone willing to handle the QB stuff.


And I'd like to say that anything that promotes community interaction is a good thing :P

Honestly, if it was brought back and made Quarterly, allowing the previous winner to run every Quarter, then it would be the same four to seven people every Quarter.

There are -quite- a few people who deserve consideration.

No offense to some of those people, they're great, but their contributions to the community aren't at NEAR the same leve as they were when they were nominated QB.

As has been said hundreds of times, it's NOT a popularity contest. It is an award given to one player every 3 months based on their contributions to the community as a whole during those 3 months. I would bet you quite a bit most of those players would agree with me when I say they don't necessarily deserve QB compared to a few of the players right now who've been significantly more active the past 3 months.

Like for instance, ask somebody new from the past 3 months who Sefton is ;)

Or edyit, or GL, or Bast, none of which have near the presense they used to have. (No offense meant, of course, great people. Just put less time in CB, more time in reality, at least in the case of edyit/GL.)

It is a place of honor for those who have earned it through selfless and rigorous work/contributions within the CB community.

In a word yes I think that there are many people that deserve a shot at this title.

Does the QB title as it is mean the same thing it did in CB1/early CB2?

Honestly no I do not think so, I attribute this to several things the most important of which is RL.

What changes, if any, would you like to see to the QB?

Have it changed form an Election and Tag every Quarter to Nominations every Quarter and an Election 1 Time a Year.
