Cricket Bat vs Baseball Bat (in Off-topic)

So the world is teaming with zombies and you need a nice head-caving weapon to beat back the undead hordes.

Do you choose
a) Cricket Bat
b) Baseball Bat
c) 9-Iron

more importantly, why did you chose one over the others?

This is important research that will ensure the survival of man beyond the zombie apocolypse.

Wraithlin October 30 2009 9:11 PM EDT

cricket bat. It has a flat side and a thin edge, versatility has a direct influence on survival rate.

AdminTal Destra October 30 2009 9:14 PM EDT

does it have to be a 9-iron? i would choose a driver... better distance

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 30 2009 9:18 PM EDT

Cricket Bat : Better Durability, versus a wooden baseball bat, thin side for carving, flat side for pounding, it is heaver, and finally it is more aerodynamic for sword swinging moves!

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] October 30 2009 9:19 PM EDT

Baseball bat, not as heavy as the cricket bat, so you can swing faster and thus beat away more zombies. Of course, both of these pale in comparison to a good 'ole Winchester rifle.

Wraithlin October 30 2009 9:21 PM EDT

Unfortunately there are are always more zombies than bullets, you'll need a backup weapon slayer.

Lochnivar October 30 2009 9:30 PM EDT

see... this is what I was concerned about... the write-in votes.

As far as driver vs 9-iron... I'm gonna have to say no. It would open up too many 'niche weapons' to the debate (field hockey sticks, curling brooms, et cetera).

Regarding the guns? That has been answered nicely already.

MonkeyMandate [Wasting Time] October 30 2009 9:37 PM EDT

cricket bat. heavier more damage and u could sharpen one edge and maybe lop off a zombies head

Joel October 30 2009 9:43 PM EDT

I've seen Shaun of the Dead so I'd go with the Cricket Bat too. Swinging speed isn't an issue with me because I'm strong enough to swing most sporting instruments as fast as a baseball bat. I wouldn't choose any kind of golf club because, if I missed even once, I could seriously bend it into a much less effective shape.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 30 2009 9:48 PM EDT

grrr... the answer is d) aluminum softball bat

I have more faith in the baseball bat honestly... I can see that little cricket bat handle snapping, same for the golf club. A small baseball bat is the most versatile tool by far.

[RX3]Cotillion October 30 2009 10:01 PM EDT

I would use the Cricket Bat made out of Bloodwood.

I'd sharpen a side and get to work.

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 30 2009 11:22 PM EDT

I'll go with baseball bat too.

Reason for myself to know.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 30 2009 11:24 PM EDT

Make mine from Ironwood or Petrified Wood and then we are cooking with grease.... Watch out Zombeh here comes teh Cricket Bat!

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 30 2009 11:28 PM EDT

I would probably take a baseball bat until i got stronger. Too weak to wield a cricket bat effectively at the moment.

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] October 30 2009 11:32 PM EDT

E) A good old Japanese sword and a level 9 fire spell...

Kompton Kidd October 30 2009 11:58 PM EDT

Baseball bat.

I got a deadly baseball bat swing.

Demigod October 31 2009 12:04 AM EDT

Baseball bat -- especially if it's aluminum.

bensonp October 31 2009 12:10 AM EDT

baseball bat. Every zombie situation i have been in I have been surrounded, so definatley a baseball bat for speed and endurance

Lord Bob October 31 2009 12:19 AM EDT

Baseball bat.

Daz October 31 2009 12:48 AM EDT

Cricket bat. Because there are three around the house, compared to zero BB bats.

TheHatchetman October 31 2009 12:52 AM EDT

Hatchet... Both for style points, and for Daz's reasons...

A Lesser AR of 15 [Red Permanent Assurance] October 31 2009 1:41 AM EDT

Baseball Bat. Not for the reasons lists above. When you get angry or flustered or freaked out by the oncoming horde. One shouldn't worry about which side to use and all sides can be dangerous with a handyman's morning star.

kevlar October 31 2009 2:30 AM EDT

This is a no-brainer for, Josh Womack: Baseball Bat

IndependenZ October 31 2009 2:42 AM EDT

Baseball bat. For all the reasons already mentioned. Duh.
