I liked when it had an actual function. Barely anyone uses them anymore. Does anyone else agree/disagree that they should be changed back to the way they were?

I definitely preferred them the way they were.

i agree maybe even if it was allowed to at least boost exp earnings by 6% and a total of 10% when named would be an improvement or that that it holds all battle generated exp and then u can dish it out to whichever minions u want when training

Sickone October 31 2009 5:14 AM EDT

Changed back, no, no way.

Up to 24% *MPR* bonus (because the end effect was a 24% MPR gain advantage, which is actually a huch higher percent of XP advantage), that is way too big. Even the current tiny 4% boost when named is more than enough, I'd say.
Also, the old version way too exploitable in so many different ways, from quick run for the top-MPR tries, to cascaded NCB tattoo levelling sessions and other such things.

That's not to say the current version isn't underwhelming, because it IS : it's highly situational (so very few people actually use it, and when they do, it's seldom on a permanent basis), non-competitive (since, let's be honest, just about any other tattoo will seriously increase target choice potential and reduce successful incoming attacks) and trades for a laughable price when you consider it's a former supporter item.
I'm merely saying going back to the old form is not really an option.

Now, if you wish to discuss how it could be changed to become useful, now that's a completely different story, and there I can help.
What you can do, for instance, first, is to convert RoEs to also grow in level (and with the way re-inking works, you could make it so that you can convert older high-level tattoos into one already-high-level RoE), remove their XP bonus when named (to avoid some issues that might arise if it's kept and level is no longer fixed at 20), keep the current "focus all XP gained on minion wearing it" feature... and finally, the most important part - MAKE THEM BOOST ALL STATS OF MINION WEARING IT by a certain percentage based on minion XP level and RoE level.

Basically, switch it from an XP-focusing-only item into an XP-focusing-and-amplification item.

I think it'll be great if the tattoo could only be used by people with 7 BA regen or lower to avoid top MPR messing with everything like before

Sickone October 31 2009 5:16 AM EDT

...although, my idea could actually change the RoE from "most underpowered" to "most overpowered" tattoo in the entire game :D
It would really depend on the stats boost chosen value (too low and it's nearly useless, too high and it's way, way overpowered).

The RoE now is great for that weak minion you want to train.

BTW is it still true that 4 minions earn more exp then 1,2 or 3 minions?

AdminShade October 31 2009 7:14 AM EDT

As far as I know, yes this is true. But the margin is really small.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 31 2009 7:33 AM EDT

I love it the way it is, and if used correctly, can save you boatloads of minion-hiring cash.

We have a tattoo with most of that function, its called a ToA. You want to be able to run a four minion "Solo Tank" team now?
