I think I have lost the ability to be psyched about video game movies.
Maybe because of "Mario Bros."

Gentlemen I think the biggest problem there is with Comic Book/Video Game Movies is the fact that the Fans of them expect them to be exactly the same as what the have played/read. That is unrealistic there should be some leeway.

The Second Biggest is that the people directing these movies have never even seen the game/comic in question let alone read/played them. Which is wrong you piss off the fans and they will flame you for all time!

The Final of the Big Three here is that there is no room on either part for Compromise. This causes the loss of direction and focus not to mention giving justice to the subject in question. Everyone involved should have some leeway and be willing to compromise a bit.

As a Stand Alone most of the Big Screen Adaptations were actually pretty good, there are always Exceptions I will not deny it!

I do expect my movies to resemble the games they are based on. Just like I would hate an adaptation of a book that butchers it's source material. I mean, if a movie is not like the game we played that shares it's name...why bother making it?

I wouldn't be pissed if "Max Payne" had been named "Emo: The Motion Picture". It would still be a horrible film, but that's not my point :P

It's not Uwe Boll, thus it's chances of not being crap are significantly increased.

1.) Army of 2 - don't have a ps3 so didnt play this cant comment.
2.) Bioshock - HUGE HUGE fan of this game..hope it isn't that poor of a movie. considering it was partly based off of a piece of literature shouldnt be too bad.
3.) Dante's Inferno - cant comment no gameplay/experience.
4.) Dead Space - If this is similar to prequel(exclusive prior to release of actual game) ill watch.
5.) Gears of war - loved the game. as above hope it isn't that horrible.
6.) God of war - No gameplay just watched friend/room mate play.
7.) Halo - its big enough for one. watched some stuff discovery did on this. be good microsoft! ;) :P
8.) Infamous
9.) Lost planet - good game. lots of possibilities for storylines if it isnt being followed remotely by actual game.
10.) Mass Effect - ANOTHER GREAT game. IMHO could be done CGI so eh..so/so.
11.) Prince of persia - played demo was good. can see some potential.
12.) The sims - HAH i laughed...seriously? if some one can give me an example of how this would be done i would take it into more sincerity.
13.) Uncharted - only heard word of this. cant really comment since no ps3.
14.) World of Warcraft - it can be done...can see lots of people wetting their pants over this...

I would absolutely love James Cameron to make Metroid into a movie.
