nightstrike's to-do list? (in General)

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] January 3 2010 10:57 AM EST

i can see both sides of this so will await input from said dev before adding the page to the wiki, but after the clan wall post i made recently i thought it might be useful to have a similar page to know issues but for features that have been asked for, agreed to and awaiting development.

it could be called features in development and would be set up similarly to the know issues with a link to the post where it was stated that something would be implemented.

examples of features to be placed on the list:

* Reverse the order that posts appear on the clan page. [1]
* Add a congrats bot that would create forum posts when players reach certain milestones. [2]

etc.

if this sounds like a good idea i would need more input on features that are awaiting development but have been approved in posts.

just like with known issues (at least its original intent) it would not be a place to request new features but just a to-do list.

I can see the good and bad on this one:

Good:
1) We will be less likely to pester NS about issues he has already addressed.
2) We won't have to stay on top of our forum reading (I'm lazy, this is a plus for me at least).

Bad:
1) I can foresee a whole lot of 'are-we-there-yet'~esque pestering instead.
2) People like to whine. I fear it being turned into a whiny nagging sort of thing.

I'd hate for this to turn into the "list of things Nightstrike is obligated to do for us within a certain amount of time or we whine."

-.- I can't wait for the Charity fundraiser to end so I will stop posting under the wrong name

i agree, which is why i defer to his judgment on the matter. i only really want it for a reference to look at before we post ideas in order to keep from rehashing ideas that are already on his list.

all of the negative aspects of it can already be done in the forums though so it really isn't adding anything new other than an alternate venue.

I thought we already had the Zenai-bot that done this :P

I quite like this idea. But we don't need number 2, Wasp is quite correct, we already have Zenai doing that.

nightstrike had already said he liked the second idea months ago. i just included it as an example since it is on his list. ; )

Fair enough then.

XD Even though I enjoy giving players their due and it gives me a sense of pride in telling them in my own way thanks for sticking with CB. I'm not that good.

On the Strongest Tattoos page I'm only catching the Top 5 of each tat type section. Most of the time it is when I'm looking at my tat and I see one getting close or has just made it over the hump and no one has noticed yet.

I cannot even imagine attempting to tackle the whole shabang! EOs, ED's, DDs, Attributes, Skills, Armor, Weapons, Tats and MPR....it is just too daunting of a task. A lot of players are getting missed that deserve to be recognized.

Even though it would miss that personal touch a Bot could do it much better than I ever could as it would not miss anyone on anything.

Looks like [1] was implemented sometime today...
