Didn't Elven Gloves give a magic bonus? (in Off-topic)

I just saw a pair in auctions and thought by my self:
I'm not too sure though, did they?

note: with this I'm referring to the old CB1 Elven Gloves.

ED used to get 1/3 of the bonus as far as I can remember, pretty sure EO and DD were unaffected

Old CB1 EGs gave like +6% to magic.

that would have been 2% as the DEX bonus would have been 6%.

I now remember it having fixed bonuses indeed. Don't remember which ones though.

6 and 2 sounds about right, boots and cloak were also the same I think

Dex and magic bonuses weren't linked. IIRC, the HoI was something like -10% DX and +5% magic. I remember EGs being 4%/6%.

I remember when ECs were 5K

They used to do nothing and Shadow cloaks were most desired because of AC...at that time all items did nothing except add AC.

Wow, how misinformed most people are.
The only Elven item which didn't used to add anything was the EC and that was only during the time before bonuses were introduced.
All of the major items in CB1 which gave a DEX bonus (Elven Gear if you need telling) had a fixed bonus to DEX which 1/3 of that bonus applied to ED's.
Any negative bonus also applied which is why anyone going that route had to balance out the armour bonus/penalties
