love it, still

I have read nothing but incredible reviews for it.

I was looking at Dante's Inferno, but that got good reviews, not great ones.

Lord Bob February 12 2010 5:55 PM EST

It's amazing. So, so amazing.

AdminShade February 12 2010 5:57 PM EST

I find it beyond amazing, it's simply touching.

It moves me in a similar way Final Fantasy VII moves me, and in a same way Lord of the Rings 3 and Titanic move me...

So Shade, harvest or rescue?

AdminShade February 12 2010 6:00 PM EST

I can be cruel, but I have my limits. While I don't want to put in spoilers, I can't bear the thoughts of harvesting... :)

That is why gamefly is awesome, you can play a game until you are sick of it, or keep it for ~$40 and get the next one on your list.

I have played a large number of games I would never have dropped $60 on...

QBRanger February 12 2010 6:43 PM EST

Would it be better to play the first one before this one?

A Lesser AR of 15 [Red Permanent Assurance] February 12 2010 8:16 PM EST

Love it. Didn't play the first one, but read this is better overall aside from the story.
btw I always rescue >.>

I never played the first one, but I've heard from people who loved it so much, they're actually ticked off that a sequel was made -- as if it would taint the purity of the first.

Now I'm going to hijack the thread.

I don't play many 360 games, but with the snow storm rolling in, I picked up Dragon Age: Origins. I haven't played it yet, but I remember you guys acting giddy about it when it came out. Now that you guys have played it, please tell me, is it worth the hype?

Yes

Ranger, I hope that's you.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first one, and wasn't paying the 2nd one any attention, until this thread... *gunna have to take a peak*

(Ranger, if you don't want to play the first one, you can always watch the video walkthroughs people post on youtube or other sites... that's what I did when I got 1/2 way through it)

Very much yes.

The first BioShock is really a unique experience that must be played directly to really understand. The sequel builds on that experience and cranks it up to eleven.

Funny story, I didn't get to play the first BioShock until late last year, almost two years after it was released. Looking forward to for that long, I conditioned myself to run a harvest game first, then I'd run a rescue game on my second play through.

Then I got to that scene with the first Little Sister. I had planned a harvest game for over a year, but that scene... I had to get up for a few minutes and pour myself a good stiff drink before I was able to come back to the game and hit the harvest button. I harvested all of them. Then the game throws it right back in your face, like you rightly deserve, about midway through.

And with the Adoption system in the sequel, and the new Little Sisters' dialog, they make it 10,000 times harder for any sane human being to harvest one. I told myself I'd start another harvest game for my first play through. Again, it took me several minutes to hit the square button.

meh... Bioshock didn't really give me many thrills... It was fun at first, but I dunno something about it just didn't really stick.

Oh, by the way gun... Love your portrait XD I laughed and dunno whether or not that's a bad thing X,x
