Weird Damage (in General)

Chachamaru's shield flashes! [2,358,167]
Chachamaru crushed Talalicious with The Sword of Truth [6079353]
Chachamaru cries "I will bend you over!"
R.I.P. Talalicious

I drained her to negative ST in one hit. So, she has no ST. She has a weapon, MoD, with less base stats,75, and less x than mine, 3300. Yet, on top of the flash, she does 3.7M damage with no ST. Please explain this.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] February 18 2010 11:23 AM EST

I should mention that B Ark, with his big weapon, only does 500 damage with no ST.

Wraithlin February 18 2010 11:28 AM EST

Is it possible that SoC calculations are bugged and are using base STR instead of adjusted STR from drains?

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] February 18 2010 11:31 AM EST

I don't know, SoC is supposed to be working where it just adds directly to damage before reductions. So, the damage I should be receiving should be less than 2.3M, not over 6M.

AdminShade February 18 2010 11:34 AM EST

The SoC damage is just fine, it's the other damage which looks high

Lochnivar February 18 2010 12:08 PM EST

Perhaps the 2x BL multiplier for the first his is the issue here....

250% of 2.3mil puts you in the neighbourhood of 6mil

QBRanger February 18 2010 12:11 PM EST

As usual Loch filled in the blank.

It has to be the bloodlust.

AdminShade February 18 2010 12:20 PM EST

Then how come the damage from the weapon is so high while another player only hits for 500?

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] February 18 2010 12:29 PM EST

Because B Ark is not using a shield of capacity so its not returning that damage, times the first blood lust hit. If he was and that character always got hit in range round like maidens then you would probably be seeing higher damage than 6 mill.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] February 18 2010 12:39 PM EST

Add to that, if it's facing AS Hit points, it will do double damage, due to being a MoD.

QBRanger February 18 2010 12:49 PM EST

In this case Titan does not use AS.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] February 18 2010 1:59 PM EST

It is the BL. The first hit adds an additional 150% to the damage. This would put it around 6 mil and you have no damage reduction. SoC returned damage is affected by all the regular things of melee damage. VA, BL, and the special effects of the weapon being used.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] February 18 2010 8:01 PM EST

Is BL suppose to affect the SoC? and it still shouldn't be doing 250% more damage even if it was the BL.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] February 18 2010 8:06 PM EST

2,358,167 * 2.5 (BL adds 150% damage on the first hit) = 5,895,418

This isn't very far from the 6 mil.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] February 18 2010 8:10 PM EST

and yes BL is supposed to affect SoC granted damage. All the SoC does is increase the next hit by the flash amount. This damage is then susceptible to BL, VA, other SoC reduction, AC and any special abilities of the weapon being used. So the SoC flash will give 20% VA with a morg or double damage vs AS and disruption on a MoD.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] February 18 2010 9:55 PM EST

I have 9% damage reduction. 2.358 x 2.5 = 5.9. 5.9 x .91 = 5.3M. Maybe not a huge difference, but 11% difference is definitely noticeable.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] February 18 2010 10:34 PM EST

where do you get 9% reduction from? You have 1 AC.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] February 18 2010 10:56 PM EST

I forgot I was unequipped when I fought her.

QBRanger February 18 2010 11:22 PM EST

Nice little surprise for using BL with a SoC.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] February 18 2010 11:46 PM EST

Its a dangerous combo with a big enchanter backed by a good AS and GA. Just give him a base BL, a mace of some sort and an SoC.

QBRanger February 19 2010 12:38 AM EST

But remember, one has to hit for the damage to be applied.

KittehShinobu February 19 2010 5:10 AM EST

^_^ I wasnt expecting BL to be able to boost SoC like that... guess thats where the record setting 8.7mil came from lol.. ^_^ I like it.
