Could it ever happen (in General)

I stated in a fs post that i haven't played cb in a very long time so i have no idea if this topic has been touched on or not. Could there ever be a chance of duel wielding ? Just one handed weapons ... short swords, daggers , the stilettos maybe ? I don't know , just think it would be a fun idea to play around with.

It has been brought up on many occasions and even with small weapons like the ones you have mentioned. The answer has been a resounding no :-/

It will not happen. We already have blood lust which satisfies the same concept.

Long story short is;


It's either baseline, in which BL is redundant. Or a Skill, in which case it's either worse than BL, and is itself redundant.

Or better than BL and again makes BL redundant.

A: Because two good 1HW like an ELS or maybe even two claymores would be massively overpowered. Getting even one extra attack would be way more benefit than using a shield or a 2HW, so a lot of gameplay choice would be lost (because one option is far more powerful than the others).

Now, we could make two weapon a Skill, but then we'd get rid of Bloodlust and only people who could afford to upgrade two weapons would have that choice. I think it's better the way it is.

I remember in 2002 when Jon actually joined chat occasionally and asked him directly, then he said no and it never will. Now at 2010 I think he was serious.
