Ooh, good luck to you and your mom!

Collegue of mine had a heart failure while on holiday, he was 58 and alas did not be so lucky to make it. But I'm sure your mom will!

I almost lost my dad about fifteen months ago. I know what you're going through. Just hang tight...

Coffee. I find to be very therapeutic in times like these. That being said I don't drink coffee. Well.. About once or twice a year... Good luck.

My next door neighbour had a heart attack on 6th Dec. He ended up in surgery and was given a quadruple heart bypass.
6 days later he was discharged from hospital and back home..! Within a week of that he was going on short walks and even managed a couple of beers in my house during the New Year celebrations.
He's now back at work and looks really fit and healthy. He promises he'll be back on the golf course for the start of the season in April.

A colleagues husband had a heart attack on 29th December. He also underwent a quadruple bypass and has subsequently had a defibrillator fitted. He got out of hospital at the end of January and is now recovering at home although is fit enough for reasonably long walks and hopes to be back at work within the next couple of weeks.

Both of the above are guys who are 54 and 50 respectively and are on the way to a full recovery with a normal and healthy life to look forward to.

Moral of the story is that modern medicine is remarkable and you should take solace from both that and your faith. I hope all goes well for your mom over the coming days and weeks.

i really appreciate everything from you guys! but no i have another situation lmbo i feel on the bed the wrong way and cut my hand open! >.<

Joel March 10 2010 10:35 AM EST

Ouch!! Wash it thouroughly, put antibiotic ointment on it and wrap your hand in gauze. Change it twice a day and reapply the ointment and it should heal nicely! If its a really deep cut, then once it heals you have to worry about the scar tissue consticting the movement of your hand. Once the scar is complete, just stretch out the scar however you can and soon the scar will be long enough to allow free movement like normal ^_^

I'm speaking from experience: I got a really deep cut on my middle finger and the scar kept it from fully extending so I forced it to, every day, until the scar was stretched out!.

Glad to hear your mom pulled through hun!!!

On your hand if the cut is too deep you may need stitches or it will not heal properly no matter how well you take care of it. Other than that Joel's advice is right on the money. I've cut open my hand a few times, proper care and personal physical therapy for scar tissue is paramount.
