Proxy for CB v0.9 (in General)
I have finally made a proxy for players to be able to use CB where it is blocked.
Only known issue right now is the chat. Not sure if I can fix this though.
Please post any other problem you encounter. Feedback and donations always welcome :)
To CB Proxy
You sir, get 5 awesome cards.
Thanks guys.
You will notice that the logged IP in the transaction history is the IP of the server and not your real IP. Therefor, whoever uses the proxy will share IP with the others who use it. The matter has been discussed with Slayer and it should not cause any problem.
Wow that is awesome Salk!

so basically, as long as I always use the proxy now, I can make unlimited multi's.
Just as a heads up the next 12 new guys are me.
Actually, those 12 would share the IP anyhow...
Yeah, new people signed up using are proxy, lol.
Registrations are disabled by the proxy now.

Registrations are disabled by the proxy now.
Ha!
This doesn't have any impact on the 10,000 other web proxies, though...
No of course not, I made the block on my proxy only.
Chances are CB is not playable on a public proxy anyways.

Success!! Thanks!
A couple of things, that I'm not sure if they're as a result of the proxy, or a problem at my end.
Selecting the play by play (to off or on or on a loss)doesn't work for me through the proxy. Never had a problem with it previously when I could log on normally.
If I move to another site then click my link in favourites it automatically goes to recent battles in the main frame. At first I thought I'd saved to favourites whilst looking at recent battles but I hadn't.
The sideframe sometimes sticks in loading, and then loads several instances of itself.
Like I say, these may be problems at my end, but again, they've never happened before when I was able to log in normally.
These are minor things though. Thanks!!

We ban open proxies to make it more difficult to multi. Don't subvert this.
i remember back in high school ... this was the only thing that wasnt blocked , it was great. I made proxies for all the other kids to get to game sites but cb worked fine because it slipped by on no graphics and things of the such ... the only thing i didnt have was chat.
Hi Jon, thank you for stopping by.
I do understand the reasons behind blocking proxies, but this one only works for CB so it's not one of those "open" proxies. Plus I have made some tools for admins to access the information I presumed was used to counter multies.
Johny, I am not sure exactly what you mean but I wouldn't be surprised to see some problems going on with the proxy. Funny thing is that it works flawlessly for me most of the times I try it but I am not blocked from CB so there might be some stuff going on that interacts directly with CB on your browser even though you are proxied (some scripts might not be translated to point at my proxy) so you would get errors since CB is blocked.
I will block CB on my network and run some tests.

It sounds like all of the problems relate to Java. I'm not sure if that's due to the proxy or something Johnny's IT dep't did.
The problem isn't coming from Java from what I know since Java is only used for the chat and it is normal that it does not work. Javascript on the other end is not based on hosts. I have made my script work correctly if the javascript points to a relative path, but if it points to an absolute path to carnageblender, it is not redirected to the proxy but directly to CB. So the scripts dont receive what info they are expecting making it bug.
In the age of tor blocking open proxies doesn't do a hell of a lot Jon.

Another glitch:
I can't buy BA. It's not a real problem, because I'll be able to do it when I get home. But annoying!
can you use the wiki mobile link to buy ba?

OK, I can buy BA but only by clicking the link in the Wiki and purchasing 5 at a time. Which is slow, but doable.
However the URL through the proxy is some scrambled looking thing that has no ba=5 in it.
The url is encoded so the variables don't get mixed... I can have a little look at that matter, I will try to do so today or tomorow.
I didn't get the time to look at the codes today but here's a little work-around for now: Use these links, they are simply modified BA purchase links.
Oops I missed up the Buy10 link, it still buys only 5 =/
The proxy is not working right now, the page redirects to the main domain due to some server-side changes. I will get it fixed soon.
The proxy is now back online. I am sorry about that.
