I'd like to say "huzzah" or the like. But I feel the need to gripe.

While the change is great (which it is), we still suffer form the age old problem of letting the use of the exploit stand.

From referal cash, to this to massive tattoos from renting, to abuse from massive EXbows, to whatever else.

The rewards for doing so remain.

While the exploit has now been closed (as it should), *no one* else can now profit from the exploit.

It doesn't always work out that way, GL. When I stored up a lot of BA, I was reset.

Which is the problem a lot of us had.

Rules being enforced sometimes.

At least this one is now closed to further abuse.

Yeah, or when disenchanting was abused, the abuser was reset...

I guess I need to find a loophole/exploit to abuse that doesn't result in me getting reset/banned. ;) Kinda the CB 'holy grail'.

Yeah, GL loves ex-post facto laws. Now let's see if we can get a change that really allows NCB to catch up. I always said it was possible to catch up b/c this was possible, along with some other things. Now it is impossible to catch up. So there you go, all of you that complained about being able to catch up, guess what, good luck now!

Exploit that devs say is ok? How is that an exploit? It costs millions of dollars, lots of time and coordination?

Titan, like Jon claiming the reduction of the MGS was fine due to cost, or that AC was fine due to upgrade cost, CB moves on.

We earn more, there's more cash coming in, the longer CB continues.

Jon had to rebalance both the MGS and AC due to use being able to breach the 'cost' balance due to this.

This is no exception.

When Jon made his comment, we probably *didn't* have the cash to do it.

Now we obviosuly do, and jon's allowance is woefully outdated.

Typically, people aren't retroactively punished for things that were once allowed and now aren't. For instance, Mikel is the reason that we have once again VPR, which makes it a lot harder to milk a 100% CB. His character wasn't penalized for following what's allowable at the time, but what's allowable changed for the future.

Besides, you can still transfer parties aren't. The cost is just a lot more. Since the target user can only have 160 BA, it means that you have to do a lot more transfers. You still can if you want to pony up the cash.

You know anyone at any point could create a full magic/physical reduction set? And by anyone I mean Zenai? Oh better change AC, it's way way OP! Everyone run around with our heads cut off.

How many examples do you need where gameplay changes, once theorised, weren't changed until someone actually *did* them?

NS Bad example using me. My NUB Time got shortened by almost a month. I think that was a penalty.

If you want something to be fixed in CB... Break it.

I don't think Titan and co should be penalized any more than they already have, the cost put into the character was insane, and if you penalized them, you would have to penalize every single NCB that did the same thing.

Since it is now fixed, everyone can move on. Maybe in time the N*B itself can be addressed.

It is handling the score drain fairly well, considering that a couple people have been draining it out pretty continuously.

I'm not sure why anyone is upset that this was changed. I mean titan, you guys were very close to doing what I said would make the change happen. The ncb was designed to get to 95%.. now if that is not possible is an entirely different thread, but the fact that you guys with just a few more trades and people saving ba could actually have passed the top mpr and become the top mpr char in the game is what I believe caused the change. It was never... ever designed for someone to pass the top mpr, and you guys found a way for it to happen, no matter the cost. This was something that was not intended and was going to get changed.

Saying that Jon said it was ok is a bad excuse because when he said it was ok was years ago and there was a lot less money around and he was probably right in that there wasn't enough money in game to allow it to happen. Now years later there is plenty of money in game and looky here.. It happened, or came awful close. Good change. Now if we want to make a new thread and talk about how we can get a good Ncb system in place where people actually can save a bit and have a chance to get to the top that is a good talk we can have, but this wasn't right and nothing anyone can say can prove that at all. :)

Again just my two cents, and I probably need change.
