Shade will be absent for a while (in Public Record)

To be precise: from Friday July 30th until Friday August 12th.

I will then be on a holiday, together with 2 friends I will be visiting Prague (4 days), Bratislava (3 days) and Budapest (5 days).
I will have my new Canon EOS 50D with me with several fine objectives (among which 24-105 and 50mm 1.8 prime) so I'll have the time of my life :)

Well, I have packed my suitcase and weighed it.

I now have around 1/3rd in space left and it's weight now is about 17 kilo's (and we're allowed to bring 30 kilo's with us).

For me this means I can take along my tripod, not sure if I'll be using it but better to bring it and not use it, than not bring it and wishing I did.

You take a lot of vacations :P

This is the rule I use when packing to go anywhere! It is perfectly sensible and some people should stop griping about my 125 lbs. of luggage.

This is the season for Holiday in Europe I've heard, which makes sense! :)

I survived most of Western Europe with just a medium hiking backpack. Then again, I'm rather low maintenance.

Anyhow, Prague and Budapest are great cities to visit. One could spend a month in Prague and not see everything. The cheap drinking is great, too. Oh, and the German consulate guards in Prague don't like it when random people walk into their backyard by accident, so try to avoid that.

Plus, there are lots of things sold in Prague's bars that you wouldn't expect bartenders to have...

Hehehe, there's now 20 kilo's in my suitcase, plenty of weight and room left to bring a few fine bottles of hungarian wine back :)

I miss the old buildings of Europe... the downside I suppose of living in a city which was only started 170yrs ago.
