UC and Naming (in General)

Can we have 'Vanity' items for UC that allow you to name them and the UC weapon gets the naming bonus that all other weapons can have?

These items wouldn't have to provide any stats or AC, just be a slot you can name.

As currently, not only is UC the only non linear damage dealer in the game (can this be changed please!), but it's the only 'weapon' that you can't name for the naming bonus.

I know you can't name DDs either, but they aren't 'weapons'. ;)

You could name a dagger "Punching Dagger" and equip it. It'd have the same effect as what you desire.

Pfft! Second line was just clarifying I didn't want any additional boosts for UC, like a UC item you could boost with CBD. ;)

All I'm after is a way to 'name' the UC Weapon (that the UC skill provides) so it can get the same bonus all Weapons can have from naming.

If that's from a new slot (that would do nothing else) or from a way existing wepaons interact with UC, either's cool!

If there's room for more UC wishlisting, I'd love for it to have Linear damage scaling. As it's currently the only damage dealer in the game that isn't linear.

Oh and things like innate VA (Like a Morg), or Ignore PL (Like a MoD) would also be sweet! :P

I guess I could make a bunch of new UC weapons which would each confer 1 thing. That way, you could customize your UC.

A UC boosting Cape, with something like that you might be able to compete.

Or boosting the Gi to give some other benefit (apart from the increased Evasion and flat +10 to UC) to UC, as it's something else like a cloak a Junction user can't take advantage of.

Adding in a new UC cloak is cool, but you'd lose the UC increase from an EC. Unless the new cloak also increased DEX. ;)

Any ideas about making UC damage linear though?

The same thing is true of DD familiars... not like the JKF is that special. A Hal is also quite capable of outdoing most archers..

naming UC is not as important as actually making it a viable skill by making it linear. The UC formula needs to be revamped and is very outdated

There's a post from Jon from a long time ago where he said that he'd deal with redoing UC in the future. Look somewhere near the thread where the 'x' damage model first went linear.
