no, it's time for pants! :p

There was a nice contest held a while back with some interesting suggestions. None of them really jumped out at me as being a perfect supporter item... maybe we need a few more ideas.

Any results of that contest? ;)

Unappreciated Misnomer September 22 2010 4:40 PM EDT

whoa? did you guys get the memo? the boots we equip go to the waist. theyre all hip-waders.

Demigod September 22 2010 4:44 PM EDT

Not mine. I'm sporting boots with cowboy chaps. They kind of look like pants from the side, but my junk is dangling freely. It makes for unpleasant social situations, but at least I fit in at Walmart.

And the last new item was a year and a half ago. So much for every six months.

Unappreciated Misnomer September 22 2010 4:48 PM EDT

ah the cause fear, or rather laughter pants eh?

To a point I agree but at the same point very and I mean very little was done in the revamp the mechanics of the item department. It took forever just to get them graded and still that project kept getting put on hold for other projects. To be honest it is STILL on hold due to another project >.<

lostling September 22 2010 8:15 PM EDT

new strats and counters should never be put on hold... Put them on hold and a game stagnants... I believe truely in change for the sake of change...

There are 2 routes to take in any game...
When there is an over powered skill or strat

1. Balance it or other strat and items to the same level eg blizzard
2. Make another item/strat thats a hard counter eg ragnarok online

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 22 2010 8:21 PM EDT

It was held off because work and testing was being done on implementing the ritual system. It's not like it was being put off for no good reason.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 22 2010 8:36 PM EDT

I know what it was put on hold for this go around nov. My point was and still is that this was on the block first and should have had its completion first. Every time something came up, no matter how small, the New Supporter Item Project was placed on hold.

Now don't get me wrong I do believe if it is to be done then do it right the first time. However I do have to say when will it get the attention it was supposed to have from day one? After the current project? The next one....how about the one after that? I understand priorities and whatnot but come on enough is enough eh? People have been asking for a New Supporter Item for how long now?

Demigod September 22 2010 8:49 PM EDT

I just can't believe it takes this much effort to drop a new item. Am I wrong in thinking Jon tossed out new ones every six months or so in CB1? They wouldn't be perfectly balanced, so he'd just nerf or boost as needed as time went. It was fine, and it kept the game interesting.

Just delete ten of the crappy items and drop something new. Give us a reason to donate money to the game. Then send a pittance of gold to anyone who owned the deleted gear.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] September 22 2010 8:52 PM EDT

Don't delete the gear. Quite a bit of them have niche places and still have a use.

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 22 2010 9:17 PM EDT

I have always wondered why there was never a suggestion post in forums. This would be a great to pick through for ideas after years and years of ideas. Then once NS is ready to add an item he could easily sort through all of the ideas.

QBOddBird September 22 2010 9:50 PM EDT

I've often wondered why there wasn't a suggestions forum myself, AK.

My guess is so that our suggestions can disappear into the General forums with all the other unviewed threads. :)

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 22 2010 10:36 PM EDT

NS suggested that everyone use a format so they would be more easily found regardless of the Forum used in the title of the thread.

Suggestion/Idea: Blah Blah Blah

I do agree though that maybe a Suggestions Forum be considered in some way, shape, form or fashion.

Tulwars? :P

(Sorry, couldn't resist! :D )

In all honesty the halberd is my favourite weapons :P

QBOddBird September 23 2010 11:54 PM EDT

Tulwars? :P

Tulwars do indeed have a niche place.

Without Tulwar around, who would the other weapons make fun of during their lunch break?

Ankou September 23 2010 11:56 PM EDT

the whip

QBOddBird September 24 2010 12:05 AM EDT

Nah, the whip gets tons of action outside of the fight arena

Pwned September 24 2010 12:21 AM EDT

Whats the program language? We could write some of the code up.

Pwned September 24 2010 12:22 AM EDT

Though it may be brain melting
