T:65 Carnage Chess (in Contests)

This will be my first tourney that I am running and I hope it works out well. It starts on Saturday Dec 11 at 3:00PM server time.

This tourney will last for as long as it needs to, most likely around 1-2 weeks I would believe. It will end on the 27th at the latest though.

This will be a team tourney in teams of 6. Each member will choose one different class from:

King
Single minion, no ranged offense. GA and AMF do not count as a ranged offense and are available. HoC is not allowed. Tattoos allowed: RoBF, ToE, RoS, RoE

Queen
Any number of minions, anything is allowed.

Bishop
Any number of minions, cannot have any form of tank offense. No str or dex can be trained. VA, GS and haste are not allowed. Tattoos allowed: FF, IF, SF, EF, RoS, ToE, RoBF, RoE

Knight
Any number of minions, Cannot have any DD trained. Cannot have GA trained. Tattoos allowed: Hal, JKF, ToA, RoS, ToE, RoE

Rook
Any number of minions. Must use ranged offense as main focus. Cannot have melee DD which includes decay, CoC, and SG trained. Cannot have any melee weapons equipped. Tattoos allowed: Hal, FF, SF, ToA, RoE

Pawn
4 minions. No tattoo allowed. No ranged offense is allowed.

Each player is representative for their respective type of piece in each Chess game. Depending on the number of players who enter will determine the number of games to be played. If we get a lot of teams we will have a lot of matches going on at once. Basically your team will play a chess game against each other team and the team with the most chess game wins will be the winner. If we have a tie then the team that won the match between the two tieing teams will be the winner.

The main addition to regular chess in this tourney is that when you try to take a piece from the other team you attack their team with your proper one. If the attacker wins then the piece is taken just like in normal chess. If the attacker is unable to beat the defending piece then the attacker's piece is the one that loses. There is no limit to the number of times you can attack the other team in order to pull off a win but no double taps are allowed so leave at least 2 minutes between taps for the win to count. Otherwise all the regular rules of chess apply.

In order to make it easier for each individual player, each team will elect a different representative who will decide on what their team does on a specific match. If we get more than 6 simultaneous matches going at once for one team, then players can be in control of multiple matches. Also for each match there should be a backup representative who can make the decision in the event of the person in charge of that match being absent.

Each side will have up to 24 hours to make their move once I post that it is their turn. As soon as I get the moves and have the battle results I will update it to keep things moving as fast as possible. So if both sides are on at the same time and go through several moves very quickly that is up to you. It may benefit you to go fast or slowly depending on how things are for you. If you pass the 24 hour mark your team makes no move and forfeits their turn.

Adding budkis to team 2 since he was interested in joining and there aren't enough players for a 4th team. 2 people need to double up on either rook, knight, bishop or pawn.

Any chance at getting team forums for this tournament? The inability to chatmail multiple people is limiting, and chat rooms are only useful if everyone is on at the same time..

I would assume because it is disallowed for the king, that it is counted as ranged offense.

The HoC does not count as a ranged offense. It is allowed for pawn but not for king.

Bah, having a HoC would sure make life as a king easier.

Oh, I just looked at that. It is relatively far from when she called the move. The way it has been done, as I have seen it so far, is that the killing is made and then the move is posted right after... But we can let Natasha' call that one.

You made your move. I killed you 6 minutes later. Whats wrong with that? It's withing the 24hrs window. Would you like us to announce when we are attacking for you? Also when attacking you may have as many chances that you need to have a win. Pay attention to the rules before you make a big deal out something that you are wrong about.

I went to sleep at 11 and Draco posted at 12:40 , so I wasn't able to post the move until this morning.

Go-Flames simply realized that QxE7 was obviously the best move, and acted on it right away to avoid delays. (Otherwise, I would have needed to send him a chatmail this morning, and wait untill he got it and beat Draco)

If it were before Draco posted his move, I'd agree that the fight is outdated; we could all win games in the beginning of the tournament and use them later on, if that were the case. However, Go-flames fought his battle after Draco posted, and that should be acceptable.

If anyone is to blame, it should be me for not staying up to post the move immediately after Go-Flames won the battle.

Lol minna you made me lose a crapton of xp trying to figure out a way around you. I just couldn't beat the hp regen of the second minion, its kind of hard when me wearing a tat is pretty much required because going tsa gets me know where. Oh well, now I'm screwed for match one :)

For match 3 Pie has 24 hours to try to beat the queen with their king in order to make it last 1 more turn. Of course if The Awesomes knight beats the king it ends immediately with their victory.

To clarify any fights made within the 24 hour time frame of a team's turn is valid. It is unreasonable to consider that all players can match up to be on at the same time. If you don't want to open up the game as fast. Send your moves to me in a CM. It will remain your turn until I update your move. If you post your move in the forum your turn ends.

Excellent tournament. I enjoyed this very much. I would like to give props to Minnakht for her excellent chess skills.

Agreed excellent tournament indeed. I would like to thank my team for doing the best they possibly could and giving it their all, I would like to congratulate all the winners as you guys did a great job, and I would like to thank everyone for the tough competition you all put up it only made the tourney that much more enjoyable for me.
