To be able to forge ANY item on ANY person just by inserting the items number...

Yes every item has its own unique number

However, it would cut out transfer costs which I think are part of the forging experience.

I think myself and others have wants this for ages. To be able to use a high NW item while getting it forged.

Nah it wouldn't cut out Xfers Wii you regulated it a bit differently. Call it a Convenience Fee and have the Cycles run at a slightly lower %. Afterall this would be interrupting things say amist battle and whatnot. ;-)

Would this allow multiple forgers to work on one item, stacking the progress?

Yes, so long as one guy doesn't leave it in the middle of a cycle.

Lots of excitement over this... I at least expected some support or something from fellow forgers.

instead of decreasing the efficiency for this mode of forging, couldn't you just increase the forging fees to incorporate the lost transfer fees?

Sounds like a good change to me! Need to get some ball rolling with forging!
