T81: Brokenly Rich (in Contests)

Everything is allowed for this tourney. You will have 160 ba at 150k bonus on the first day. On the second day all character's money will be set to 2 bil and the ba cap will be increased to 320. This ba will be at 1.5k bonus.

The winner will be based on the average of the score and PR of the best target you can beat.

This tourney will start Friday Sept 23 at noon server time and end Sunday Sept 25 at noon server time.

Prizes: 1 mil for first, 500k for second, 250k for third, 100k for a target with at least half the average of score and PR as first place.

Forgot one last note. Targets without a real direct offense, or no survivability will not be counted.

Did I ever fully block tournamnet users from getting money into the CB market? ie, via auctions? They should be limited to the blacksmith/store/etc type places where money spent has no effect.

Also, this will break things. Certain accounts get money that's spent. For instance, Mr. Chairman gets all of your transfer fees, I think. This is all stored as 32-bit signed integers, which means there will be a max of about 2 billion.

I fixed a problem recently where Mr. Chairman had too much money, and transfers didn't work. I fixed it by resetting the cash he had.

I don't want to block the tourney, but I don't want to break CB. We might need to run a test tournament first, or otherwise try to see what might go wrong.

Tourney chars aren't allowed onto auctions or the regular stores so that is fine. Also this money won't be getting transferred so it shouldn't all get sent to mr chairman. The only problem that could occur is if the regular fighting rewards exceed 147 mil in nw.

? I don't know how easily accessible that code is or how modularized it is, but that'd be an easy fix if you could do that. Since you already did something like that manually.

You can go into the negatives actually, if you auction house an item and dont have the funds to cover the auction fee it will send you into the negs, I would have thought a warning would pop saying insufficient funds or aomething.

There are numerous ways to have negative cash. And changing those data types is non-trivial.

To remove the fear of breaking the game I'll lower the amount to 1,900 mil.

Is not the fear that with so much money, and people using the BS, Mr. C will be quickly overloaded with cash? Causing problems with normal characters and transfers.

If that were the case we all would have broken the game so many times it would be needing to be fixed 1-2 times a month rather than just 1 time in 6+ years.

However will we not run into ENC overload very easily?

With a 2 day tourney, with the bonuses, what will the max MPR be? Do we really need 2B CB?

Note, I am not making a statement on the T itself. It sound real fun, but ENC may make that huge bow or huge COI impossible.

Of course you're going to run into enc. That's the big point of this tourney. How will you manage to make your team while dealing with a 1.00 enc where you want to put that nw.

That is probably the last thing I would want to try with 2b cbd, seems like the best thing to do just because the junction gets no real penalties, but its too plain and boring in my mind. Much more fun is to be had messing with some other things IMHO.

Maybe I have not played a tourney for a long time. I have little idea about how much MPR we can assume to get in a 3 day tourney.

at the rate she set it at, ~1m if you are good on the first day and a slightly higher (~1.5m) the second day. Maybe larger, I might be thinking about 100k bonus tourneys and not 150k

The win condition doesn't work. Since it turns out that the tourney does drain score out of non-tourney chars, it just means whoever hits the highest pr/score first wins cause every hit after the score is drained even more.

I am at 1/6the his MPR. It is the ONLY item in the game that lets me do this.

The "overpowered" ELB does not. The RBF does not. The RoS does not. DBs do not.

I beat Guernica with a x5000 +0 exbow.

I only boosted the + to try to beat Z.

That's b/c Picasso is silly and uses EBs

Actually the exbow does have a huge connection to this thread as it will be the sole determination of who wins this tourney.

Nothing lets you fight up as high as it does.

You were given 2b to do whatever you wanted to to fight up as high as possible.. Proving that you can do it on the cheap with the exbow was not the point of this tourney, it was to have fun and try something new and different, to mess around with 2b nw and find a way to use all of it effectively at that MPR overcoming all of the ENC penalties and still making it work.

You didn't do that, you just showed the obvious of what Areo already proved and we've talked about extensively in other threads. You didn't even use all your money. Use all of it, go over the enc cap and then try to do the same.

Its not like its impossible to hit upwards with other setups. I beat Atomicboy without much trouble. Thats 7+ mil PR and score vs 2 mil PR.

Also, the exbow only looks to work alone against teams with only 1 damage source, that being a tank, and no EC or AMF. Also no high HP with TSA that can't be decayed.

Ab is quite easy. I beat him with 3 different setups.

However, with the exbow there are multiple targets I can beat much higher up.

C'mon we both know you would -never- fight these people if you were that size growing a N*B, or any character for that matter, the win rates are atrocious.

I am baffled by the number of CB experts defending the ex bow.

My favorite part is i a have an Encumbrance 0.92 and still drain most of their str all in one shot... broken? Mayhap.

That's not the exbow's fault, that's the way ENC would work with any weapon. ENC doesn't lower the x of a weapon right?

Demi is correct, the ENC doesn't lower the X or the + on the weapon at all.

Its here, it's in the game, it's not going anywhere any time soon. If it bothers you, too bad, deal with it. If it directly affects you learn to defend against it. You want to go all out physical damage but don't want to set up any practical defenses against it? That's on you.

The weapon is only useful vs a minority of people in the game, and like any other weapon still requires a tank and NW to be effective with it. Sure the tank and weapon can be smaller, but size doesn't really matter a whole lot in this game. Small things can pack a punch too.

My favourite part... too bad it has never bothered me, nor has it ever had anything to do with me... but Broken is broken need I say more. Keep in mind when I was top 10 I was using RoBF and a mini tank yet my tank didn't do anything for my team, so I have no qualms with the concept behind the exbow... but in its current state it is broken.
