Renew Now! (in Changelog)

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 20 2011 2:47 PM EDT

You can now quickly renew your item namings through the manage character page. Clinking the "Renew Now!" link leads directly to the item naming page aka "Names of Power". (Also found on: 'Reforge with Name of Power' via the Blacksmith or on the Special Items page under 'Names of Power').

If the item is currently on your active character it will automatically be selected for (re)naming, and its current name will automatically be listed. This allows for a quick and easy way to keep all of your current item names the same whenever they are close to expiring and you wish to extend the time on the naming.

Clinking "Renew Now" on items not currently on your active character will still lead you to the item naming page but they will not automatically be selected to be renamed. This is a minor glitch with the way the blacksmith works, as he will only allow you to name items on your active character.

In short: There is now a shortcut to easily rename items that you are currently wearing, and also a quicker route to the 'Names of Power' page general.

Again:

Thanks to Ranger for pointing out the now direct link to the naming page, credit goes to Duke for being the first to mention the change in chat. Credit to everyone who figured out which items automatically get selected and which don't.

Awesome Award goes to NS for making the change in the first place.

sweet!

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 20 2011 3:29 PM EDT

New Changelog: You can now instantly renew your namings through the manage character screen. You can also rename items in this manner without the item in question needing to be unequipped first.***

If this isn't even more accurate then my first post then I'm not sure what is >_>

QBRanger September 20 2011 3:32 PM EDT

You never needed to unequip items to name them.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 20 2011 3:34 PM EDT

^ Well then that goes against the info I just got from chat. Now I don't know what the heck NS is looking for with this post, unless I'm totally missing something.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 20 2011 3:46 PM EDT

New Changelog: You can now renew your namings through the manage character screen. The link leads directly to the naming items page as opposed to going to Businesses > Blacksmith > Reforge an item with a name of power. In short.. there is now a shortcut to easily name items.

Thanks to Ranger for pointing out the now direct link to the naming page, credit goes to Duke for being the first to mention the change in chat.

Finally I ask you NS.. Is this good enough? And if so.. could someone be so kind as to edit my first post XD

Duke September 20 2011 3:46 PM EDT

You can now renew your naming via the manage button from the toolbar. Item you click are preselected.

QBRanger September 20 2011 3:48 PM EDT

Item you click are preselected.

Not for me.

AdminTal Destra September 20 2011 3:51 PM EDT

Works for me Ranger

QBRanger September 20 2011 3:52 PM EDT

Actually I tried it for all my items.

Some it did autoselect the item, others it did not.

The ones it did not are:

Pickaxe to the Brain Corn
Reanimated Zombie AoF
Lone Gunman AoF
Bear Trap BoF
Chainsaw BoM
Lost Teenagers NS

All the items on my main character autoselect, the ones that did not are not on my main, but on secondary characters.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 20 2011 3:53 PM EDT

^ Some items are automatically selected when you click "Rename Now" others are not. As to why only some items are automatically placed in the rename box I haven't the slightest clue.

Out of the 5 named items I have now 3 show up automatically, Interestingly enough, its every other item that doesn't show up. So only items 1, 3 and 5 for me are automatically placed into the naming/renaming spot.

Seems like that wasn't supposed to be the case.

QBRanger September 20 2011 3:54 PM EDT

I went to my secondary character with the items that did not autoselect and now they do, but the ones on my main do not.

Bug report!!!

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 20 2011 3:55 PM EDT

Ahh ranger got it, Items that are equipped to your current character are the ones that are automatically placed in the box to be renamed.

It just so happens that is every other naming I have for me.

Duke September 20 2011 3:56 PM EDT

I think that what is intended, its move your directly to the item you are mostlikely using the most.

AdminNightStrike September 20 2011 4:14 PM EDT

Ah, right.. I forgot that the blacksmith only lets you name items that are on your active character.

I'm not sure what should be the effect if you click Renew now! for an item that's not on your active. Forcing an active character switch will be a very unintuitive side effect.

As for the CL entries... all I'm going to say is that this is good proof that writing Changelogs is hard :) :)

Duke September 20 2011 4:19 PM EDT

Its was make like this so you can know wich item you are currently naming. EX: you want to name a HoE+15 that you own and you are renting a HoE+15 by moving the loan/rent item you can be sure to name your own gear.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 20 2011 4:26 PM EDT

/me shrugs

Someone else is free to give it a crack on the head if they want, I tried hahaha.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 20 2011 4:55 PM EDT

Lets try this again shall we? 5th time's the charm?

AdminNightStrike September 20 2011 5:01 PM EDT

I'll take it!

QBRanger September 20 2011 6:26 PM EDT

Can we cut and paste Xeno's description to the first post?

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] September 20 2011 6:30 PM EDT

There you go.

AdminNightStrike September 20 2011 7:43 PM EDT

huh... Right after I posted "I'll take it", I edited the thread to do just that. I guess I forgot to save it.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] September 20 2011 7:43 PM EDT

I took care of it for you.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 21 2011 4:30 AM EDT

Wow.. did anyone else notice I wrote 'Clinking" a million times... when obviously I meant clicking..

Funny thing is I don't think anyone did. Except me.. who sees numerous mistakes I want to change.

/me needs an edit button.. OCD is not fun when you cant fix mistakes :(

AdminNightStrike September 21 2011 6:38 AM EDT

Yeah, I fixed all those instances of clinking in the first-post-edit that I made.... Now if only I hit "Save" :)

someone[onabreak] September 21 2011 7:22 AM EDT

It still says "clinking".
