Dead Minions not Staying Dead (in General)

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] November 14 2011 5:40 PM EST

There seems to be a problem with the TSA continuing to regenerate minions and bring them back to life after they've had the RIP shows up.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] November 14 2011 5:44 PM EST

I don't believe this is actually what was fixed. I think the only thing that was fixed was the specific situation where a minion "dies" and then it doesn't get targeted in the same round by a different minion b/c that minion thinks it's dead. I was under the influence the "resurrection" part of the TSA was by design.

If you look the minion is technically below 0 hp even at the start of each round but it is still being targeted and absorbing hits as well as dealing out attacks of its own.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] November 14 2011 5:50 PM EST

Yeah, it's still suppose to do those, except for the dealing out attacks part... that's where the problem is... that's weird.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] November 14 2011 5:51 PM EST

Nope, it is supposed to stop regenerating after the RIP shows up which is if the minion is below 0 HP after that rounds regeneration. Also in any later rounds there should be no more action through targeting, or dealing damage of any sort. RIP basically means removed from the battle.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] November 14 2011 5:55 PM EST

I am pretty sure I know what the problem is as well. The TSA holding minion is only being considered dead if a full regen below a full regen below 0. Basically minions are getting the RIP sign for any amount below 0 after all regen and effects of the round have gone through, but the TSA minion is no longer getting removed from the battle for this. Instead if say you regen 100k you actually have to take them down to -200k in order to remove them from the battle, (before it was -100k) it will target that minion down to -100k.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] November 14 2011 5:56 PM EST

Are you sure. I thought the message printed out means that at some point that minion went below 0 hp, then his regen brought him back above 0, which is why he takes place in the next round?

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] November 14 2011 5:58 PM EST

Ahh I see, yeah, it actually looks more broke now, lol.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] November 14 2011 6:00 PM EST

I didn't think NS implemented the fix like that from the way he described it though. You would do 2 checks. 1 if it still needs to be targeted and 1 to see if it is dead at the end of the round. I don't think he just changed the "dead" check to 0-regen... b/c yes, that would be bad.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] November 14 2011 6:00 PM EST

If the minion's hp is above 0 at the end of the round no RIP will be given. If you look every round RIP was given. And if you calculate the amount of damage dealt the minion was in-between 1 regen and 2 regens below 0 each round. Basically it was sent to 2 regens below and considered dead for targetting purposes, but when it regenerated back to less than 1 full regen below 0 it was considered RIP but not removed from the fight like what should happen.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] November 14 2011 6:06 PM EST

Another way to confirm that the minion is starting the round below zero is to see that when my minion hits it gets no GA retaliation which would happen if it were above 0. Even if it were at only 1 hp it would say GA retaliates for 0 damage.

AdminNightStrike November 14 2011 10:22 PM EST

Without even looking at the code, I believe your thorough analysis. I probably edited a method to include regen that is being done by hand elsewhere.

After looking at Areo's fight log all I can say is...

No one noticed the 7200 in rewards he got from one fight without exp time?

Yeah tell me again power doesn't effect rewards hahahaha..

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] December 3 2011 1:40 PM EST

7200 exp*

Areodjarekput December 3 2011 1:52 PM EST

PR / MPR : 5,622,965 / 5,213,167

Every active fighter with my MPR has higher PR than I do.

My rewards are high based on the NCB Bonus, and the Challenge Bonus.

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] December 3 2011 2:17 PM EST

You don't understand though.. Compare your rewards to someone with let's say 4 million power and equal challenge bonus. The difference is huge..

Django December 3 2011 2:18 PM EST

PR is a huge factor when it comes to rewards.

QBRanger December 3 2011 2:20 PM EST

You don't understand though.. Compare your rewards to someone with let's say 4 million power and equal challenge bonus. The difference is huge..

Not really. His huge boost is due to the NCB.

Areodjarekput December 3 2011 2:26 PM EST

Two fights against the same target.

With normal equips:

Rewards
Cash (total) $317
Healing cost -$10
XP (per minion) 5573
Clan Points 8

Bonuses
Challenge bonus 68%
Clan bonus 13.4%
NCB (xp only) 603%
Bonus XP time 60% more xp

With my defensive equips:

Rewards
Cash (total) $245
Healing cost -$10
XP (per minion) 2889
Clan Points 8

Bonuses
Challenge bonus 22%
Clan bonus 13.4%
NCB (xp only) 603%
Bonus XP time 60% more xp

QBRanger December 3 2011 2:27 PM EST

I would think a few fights and an average would be more representative than 1 fight.

Areodjarekput December 3 2011 2:27 PM EST

Oh, and a PR comparison:
PR / MPR : 5,622,965 / 5,213,167 with normal equipment
PR / MPR : 7,791,812 / 5,213,167 with defensive equipment

Areodjarekput December 3 2011 2:28 PM EST

And I have done this testing for a full day, the results are representative of the results I posted here. I just don't want to lose more XP testing it again :)

QBRanger December 3 2011 2:29 PM EST

So you are typing that 2M more PR doubles your rewards?

Areodjarekput December 3 2011 2:31 PM EST

No, the additional PR, and the resultant loss in challenge bonus about halves my rewards.

QBRanger December 3 2011 2:32 PM EST

Ah I had it backwards. I understand now.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] December 3 2011 2:46 PM EST

Every active fighter with my MPR has higher PR than I do.

You don't understand though.. Compare your rewards to someone with let's say 4 million power and equal challenge bonus. The difference is huge..

There is truth in this statement.

QBRanger December 3 2011 3:00 PM EST

So you are typing that with equal challenge bonus, NCB and clan bonus, his rewards would be significantly higher at 7M PR vs 4M PR?

I do not see that for me, but perhaps with the multiplicative factors of the NCB and CB it may be true for Aero.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] December 3 2011 6:53 PM EST

So you are typing that with equal challenge bonus, NCB and clan bonus, his rewards would be significantly higher at 7M PR vs 4M PR?

His would yes, but that does not necessarily mean that would be true for everyone and every opponent.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] December 10 2011 10:42 PM EST

TSA bug still needs to be addressed. So up it goes.
