Find me songs about elements (in Contests)

AdminShade November 16 2011 1:02 PM EST

I'd like to challenge you to find me songs about, or having the title of, elements of the periodic table.

The 2 songs I already have:
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
Davit Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium

Every good song (which has not been mentioned before of course) gets you 25k. If I also happen to like the song, it gets you even more! Depending on how much I like it, the prize will go up to 100k. Even though I promised myself not to get duplicates of elements, the songs from Evanescence and Sting made me break this rule. :)

As for updates:
Lochnivar: Nirvana - Lithium: 100k
Fishead: Spandau Ballet - Gold: 100k
Ranger: No Doubt - Platinum Blone Life: 50k
Fishead: Prince - Diamonds and Pearls: 50k
Fishead: Evanescence - Lithium: 50k
Shades' dad: Within Temptation - Iron (he gets no prize)
ScrObot: Sting - Fields of Gold - 100k

And Kryptonite is not a real element... ;) But if you're including it, "Jimmy Olsen's Blues" by The Spin Doctors is the "pocketful of kryptonite" song. (=

To cover all the ones that people can't find:

Absent Elements - Finger Eleven

This one is gonna payoff huge! I reckon we'll maybe hit 20 which would put this song's value at 25k * (118-20) = 2.45mil, give or take.

Tom Lehrer's - The Element Song

The majority of the periodic table used as the lyrics.

QBRanger November 16 2011 9:02 PM EST

The song is not called 'crazy about a mercury'. It's real name is Mercury Blues. Written by K. C. Douglas and Robert Geddins in 1949.

And it was performed by many others including Alan Jackson.

Including the Steve Miller Band, Canned Heat, Norton Buffalo, David Lindley, Meat Loaf, and Dwight Yoakam.

Alan Jackson's version was the most popular according to the music Billboard charts.

I've checked a few and also really like a few.
Haven't had the time to really send prizes but I'll do that somewhere around/in the coming weekend.

p.s. that nirvana song definitely will get a 100k prize!
