T83: Return of the King (in Contests)

The prodigal King has returned!
However, every King needs knights, and as such a royal tournament shall be run to determine who is fit to serve the King!


By decree of the King:

The royal tournament shall begin upon the first day of January, at Noon!
The royal tournament shall conclude upon the eighth day of January, at Noon!
The participants shall be allotted 300 BA to begin with!
The participants shall be allotted a maximum of 2000 BA to use!
The participants shall be allotted 20,000,000 EXP to start with!
The rewards shall be increased to 2000% normal rates!
The King shall see fit to equip his fighters with $10,000,000 in starting funds. You must chatmail the King when you create your character for these funds to be disbursed.

The King is of course a fickle man, and as such he will not allow the usage of any magics hereby listed: Fireball, Magic Missile, Decay, Cone of Cold, and Shocking Grasp.

The King demands the following of his potential knights:

From Noon on Sunday, until Noon on Monday, knights must use a minimum of 400 BA, and a maximum of 600 BA. They may fight any opponents they wish!

By Noon on Wednesday, knights muse use a minimum of 800 BA and a maximum of 1100 BA. They may fight any opponents, but MUST fight at least 100 battles against other knights!

By Noon on Friday, knights must use a minimum of 1200 BA and a maximum of 1600 BA. They may fight any opponents, but MUST fight at least 200 battles against other knights!

From Noon on Friday to Noon on Sunday, knights must use a minimum of 1600 BA and a maximum of 2000 BA, and may ONLY fight other Knights.

The winners shall be as follows:

He who defeats the most of his fellow knights shall be deemed the King's High Constable!
The High Constable shall receive first choice of winnings, one armor piece and one weapon.

He who has the most physical prowess (MPR) shall be deemed the King's Champion
The King's Champion shall receive second choice of winnings.

He who has the greatest wealth (NW) shall be deemed the King's Blacksmith!
The King's Blacksmith shall receive third choice of winnings.

All those who defeat more than 50% of attacking battles shall be deemed worthy of the King's army, and receive commission!
The King's Army shall receive the following: $500,000

A Breastplate of Expertise [18]
A Helm of Clearsight [-5]
A Mage Shield [0] (+25)


Weapons:
A Mageseeker [5x30] (+10)
An Enforcer's Crossbow [4x15] (+12)

An Elven Long Bow [6x98] (+26)

some questions:

at the By noon on wednesday; it says a minimum of 800 BA and a maximum of 1100 BA. the Total has to be from 800-1100 or you have to do that much ._.

allotted = Allowed?

what is TBD?

at the King's kigh constable, does hitting the same knight count as defeating the most of them?

You start with 300 BA, and can use a maximum of 3000.

On Monday, you are required to have used at least 400, but cannot use more than 600

On Wednesday you are required to have used at least 800, but no more than 1100.

On Friday you are required to have used at least 1200 but no more than 1600.

On Sunday you are required to have used at least 1600.

so for full growth, u should get (as example) 600 BA on the monday?

On Monday, you will have had the opportunity to use your 300 starting BA, plus regular regen BA, but are not allowed to exceed 600 BA spent (by your own watch, I cannot set this limit)

Sounds fun, I hope I have the time to complete this tourney. Are we to create a single minion character or are multi minion characters OK?

It is up to you. The prizes look good; doesn't matter whether you get first/second/third, you will get something decent :)

You can actually set the limit multiple times. As for the prizes, what if one person gets more than 1 of those win conditions?

Come tomorrow noon, my records aren't going to show that I fought 100+ battles against my fellow perspective knights... so I'm just leaving this here.

So, do I have to meet the requirements for the daily challenges to get a participation prize? B/c I was a top contender for NW and maybe even for MPR, and then I forgot to fight one day and traveled another, it would suck if I didn't get even a participation prize :/

I will give you money if you don't get the participation prize, Titan. I attacked you alot, so if you are ineligible, it's partially my fault.

It says participation is battles attacked so defensive losses don't count against that category. (I am assuming)

and the time has came! King slayer, Who has won the Tournament? Who was the strongest (MPR) between them all, the smartest (most fellow knights slaughtered) or the richest (NW)?

I'm curious as to who ended up getting first place. I had expected him to win because I kept staling two people, but then I was able to defeat them in the end. *shrug* It was definitely Xeno's DM that made me realize how useless my GA was, which was just exp being wasted, haha.

I'm absolutely sure that I won the Royal Blacksmith position. It was real easy to tell, because of the Character Standings page for the tourney. I'm awaiting my turn in the prize choosing! ^.^

I think I was confused and thought it meant he who defeated the most knights as in the most number of other players.

YAHOOOOOO!!!! This is the first time I've ever placed First in a tourney!! Thank you Slayer for giving me this opportunity!! The tourney was a learning experience, and it had an entertaining premise!
