I also just read the Eric Cantor is not going to allow a vote on this bill in the House until a "consensus" is reached.
This basically kills this bill.
Plenty of work to still be done, playing dead has been a tactic before

PIPA still exists, and before you pop the champagne, know that SOPA will resurrect once the bill is amended.
(I haven't had time to read your link since I'm swamped at work, but I assume it's the same info I read previously.)

You're probably thinking about every dystopian movie ever made.
If it was dead for real, wikipedia and google would be normal today.

With SOPA getting dropped I can't help but feel there is a 'dyslexic in prison' joke to be made...

Wonderful video on the subject, a good reminder that this is not the end by far.

It is dead at least for this session of Congress.
However the bills sponsor is still being a bunghole.

apparently megavideo is down too.. but i thought nothing has been done yet
Doesn't sound like they need SOPA/PIPA to me, look what they can get done, and this isn't the first such operation i've heard about too.

An explanation of SOPA and PIPA from Khan Academy:

Satirical approach to the bill. Which also shows how out of date and out of touch Congress is.

That video from Khan Academy was probably the best I've seen yet. Cheers for that find, spread it around as much as I could.
I love Stewart's comment when he shows the clip of all the people saying "Bring in the nerds." Stewart's comment being: "I believe the term you are looking for is.. experts."
