Stratey Question (in General)

I'm trying to develop a relatively cheap 5 Minion team based around a Hal. I was thinking something like EETW. Two Enchanters, a UC guy, and a PL wall, but I can't seem to think of what to train on each or if having the UC guy is even a good idea. Any thoughts?

I was going to use him mainly to use an Exbow so I could weaken stronger archers/tanks

The only way to use UC well is to junction a Jiggy. Otherwise the xp dilution from having to learn Str, Dex and UC is too much. Misfits is a great UC character based upon a jiggy. Using UC with a ToA is just a waste of the tattoo slot, given the lower damage of UC and the fact it does not go in missile.

As to the HF, Run Away!!! Far away. The HF is underpowered given the many ways physical damage can be mitigated and the fact DD familiars always hit and are unaffected by certain items. Add a nice pair of NSC and you are good to go.

The best and cheapest 4 minion character to run and fight as high as possible is the RoS of course. Aside from a few AoF and corns, you are good to go. Get a NSC for your mage and you are great to go.

The cheapest 4 minion is actually the RoBF, negligible base cost of equipment and a 400AC Pl minion is cheaper than 4 full sets of upgraded enchanter gears.

Hals are bad, the damage curve stops it from being viable in the upper levels even without taking evasion and AC into account. SF is bad unless you're running an MM mage along with it, FB/FF is horrible since the only teams designed to die in ranged are archers who will out damage you and probably win that race.

Turtle up and go for melee, never use a multiminion tank unless it's SoC + hammer weapon shenanigans. CoC/IF or a RoBF are probably your best bets.

I would disagree with King.

If you look at Dude's and King's characters, the NW of King's is less.

Getting to 400AC is not that cheap while +11 corns only run 11M each.
+13 AoF's are 9M each.

Add some SB and BoE's which do not need to be upgraded at all if you do not want, and you can get buy with 60M on your enchanters.

Add some +15 NSC at 8M and a base HoC for your mage and you are all set.

SBs and CoI for the mage will set you back another 8-9M for the upgrade on the CoI.

Remember, if you run a RBF strat, you will still need at least 1 set of enchanter gear for your AMF character. Also a TSA and MgS for your PL minion.

Overall, I feel the RoS is a far cheaper strat that can fight up just as high if not higher.

Comparing me and Dude doesn't work out too well. I'm broke, need about 30M worth of upgrades and don't want to be using a RoS in the first place.

Arioch tends to be my prime example, look at how many times it gets attacked over the course of the day vs say... Moskel.

Thanks guys for the input. I've been mulling it around for a few days and pretty much reorganized the strat anyways. I've been away from CB for a while so I'm quite rusty.

EEMW with a RoBF is what I'm looking at now. AMF and GA on one and AS on the other. PL wall since I already have all the gear and a CoC mage for extra damage dealing. The only big weakness I would have would be DM I think.
