Anime!

So it has been a while since I have hit up the Anime scene. Last time I had a go around was when Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. 2nd GIG was starting up on adult swim. At any rate hit me up with some titles folks no worries about genre I'll watch anything that is worthwhile in storyline and art. I prefer englishdub but once again if it is worthwhile subtitles don't hurt me any ;-P

not sure but, when I was younger i really got into the gundam wing series, its short but i loved the idea of the giant robots, kinda like armoured core or mech warrior.

You should check out Cowboy Bebop and Deathnote.

Both have pretty good english dubs and very good story.

Cowboy Bebop has the best music of any anime I have ever seen.

Just a side-question, why would anybody bother with dubs when there's plenty of good quality subs around for just about anything (so you have a much wider selection available) and some subtlety is always lost via dubbing anyway ?

Both Justice Leagues are pretty good.

I'm not a big anime fan, but Naruto and Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke are both great. They're also safe for when your kids walk in the room.

Fair warning, though: Naruto was a long-running show, so if you plan on watching all episodes, put everything else on hold.

First sorry it took so long to answer back I just plain missed it......lol
Ok now I only use this as a general rule of thumb but usually this is a good marker for a worthwhile Anime. Most anime that are good to great have been Dubbed or are in line to be Dubbed. (Some subtlety is lost in Subs too FYI). So with knowing these I tend to get a list of fairly good anime which is filter Number One. Then I go with Filter Two which is Subs via word of mouth, I usually check with my buddy to find out if they are in line to be dubbed or not. Final Filter is simple actually is it visually appealing to me. I have made a few exceptions before but I usually go with this system and have not been disappointed often with the choices I have made.

All Miyazaki stuff :) There are also a few others I didnt list by Miyazaki, but I've literally seen everything he's ever done and I'm telling you its all gold. Its the kind of stuff that I'll be letting my kids watch some day along with some of my favorite old Disney movies. Seriously if you haven't seen any of them, they are all ~90minutes and absolute joys to watch.

I actually watched the first 5 episodes of High School of the Dead, and was pretty impressed, even though I'm not an anime fan. I found those in english somewhere, but they were the only ones dubbed in english, the rest were subbed.

Betterman I don't remember much of to be honest, but I thought it was pretty cool back when I first saw it. I never watched the whole series, probably only about 4-5 episodes. So I'd save it for last if its on your list, just in case it winds up not being so great.

I thought Blue Gender was really good, however I never had a chance to finish it. It ran on Adult swim for a really short time, so I missed a bunch of episodes towards the end, and unfortunately it was one of those series that they only re-aired a few times.

Last exile I've seen from beginning to end, and I found the story to be really interesting, but I'll give you fair warning that it can be a little slow at times as its more character driven as opposed to a lot of action. But it has airships and those things are cool.

Hey Z, have you played the Fate Stay/Night game? You should download the English translated version from The Pirate Bay! Its freakin' sweet! I'm gonna check out the anime, soon! ^.^

If you liked Fate/Stay Night I imagine you would like Fate/Zero as well.

I'd like to add Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, and for lulz, Final Fantasy (The Magun has awoken!).

If you don't mind a bit of fan service, there's also Najica Blitz Tactics, and that high school fighting one (that I can never remember the translated name for).
