Death by Jabberwocky is Dead (in General)

Another great clan is gone. "death by jabberwocky" died... most likely by a Jabberwocky.
It's a shame to see one of the big guys dwindle away, but it happened.
I really wish there was a way to prevent long term clans from dying away like this.
aww what? I know you can just go remake a new one but the legacy will have to continue in its stead in memory...
^ Some kind of placeholder/hall of fame for clans that have existed for a certain length of time, with the ability to be reactivated by the former owner of the clan or something along those lines. Just something I thought of off the top of my head, obviously just kicking around ideas here.
Something I thought about and dropped off a long time back. A bit of a revision on it this time though.
How about once a Clan has been around for let's say a year or more they have the option to pay and keep their clan from getting disbanded. Sort of a perk for long standing clans.
Also what if there was a clan coffer, where members can contribute to pay for the clan fees or ever dare I suggest clan rituals?

I think both of those are great ideas. However if a clan bank is initiated is implemented then there has to be some effect on clan bonuses since obviouslythere are q few clans whose pockets are far deeper than others.

Sorry for the typos, mobile.
Ramp the costs by the PR of the Clan. I think that would be the fairest way.

And then there's always the fact that people pay for cb dollars as well. That's reasonable when they're only beefing up their own character, but buying money and beefing up a whole clan with rituals just doesn't really seem fun to me.
Not for the rituals just to keep the clan from being retired/disbanded.

We could have old clans be retired in much the same way as characters. Maybe even allow some form of unretirement. I'll think about it. In the meantime, I'll look into disabling the clan killer.
That would be absolutely AWESOME! Thanks for considering it NS!
Clans build around central figures bro take that as a compliment!

I guess holding a wedding means your clan dies... how appropriate :P
Rofl.........well hopefully something really awesome comes about as a result of this happening!

Don't worry, Sickone. I blame dudemus just as much as I blame your wife. ;)
=3 speaking of irony, I "was" in that clan when it died lol.
What do you propose, Z?
I think the first step would be to stop removing the points of people that leave a clan.
That's caused a few Clans I've been in over the years to auto disband.
One or two players who've been in that clan during the week leave, their points leave with them, and the Clan is at a massive negative points total, and auto disbands. :(
I think the first step would be to stop removing the points of people that leave a clan.
Indirectly Related: Honestly for a VERY long time I have wanted to have CPs belong to the Char or Account that made them. So if they leave a clan and join another it's not a big deal if their last clan disbanded. Their Monthly/Yearly CP Accrual wouldn't suffer the consequences of a clan that was "On the rocks" so to speak.
They do belong to the Character.
That's why when they leave, thier old clan loses the points, and is in danger of auto disbanding.
Only while the Clan is still up GL. When TK II disbanded both novice and I lost well over 700k CPs on the Yearly Standings. Every clan that I have been in that I contributed CPs to has dropped them from standings when they disbanded.
Two sides of the coin I guess is what is going on with CPs. In the short term they are intertwined with the player/char and in the long term with the clan.

Or, you know, just have clan fights never take away any points ?
Instead, if you really have to change anything else too, change point gain values.
Interesting idea but personally I think that takes away from the competitive spirit of CB to NOT take CPS from rival clans. Now a possible reworking of how CPs work and how many Gained/Lost would be cool.

We could make clan points scale upwards based on target clan position, so it would still be competitive, but a purely positive competition.
Like, say, attack #1 top clan, gain 10 points, attack #2 and only gain 9, attack #3 and gain 8, attack any of the other top 5% and gain 7, next 10% and gain 6, next 15% for 5, next 20% for 4, next 25% for 3 and rest for 2, with 1 for non-clannies.
Then add or subtract an additional point for attacking targets of score at least 25% above or 20% below your own PR, two points for 50% above or 33% below, three for more than that (capped below to 0 CP gained or above to 10 CP gained).
As of cache flush, clan auto-disbanding will be temporarily disabled.

Thanks, NS. I'm not sure what change you'll implement, but I appreciate the effort. I wish we could just set auto-disbanding to "zero initiated fights in a week," but that would cause the bonuses to go haywire.
