Random drop system (in General)

simple question who likes it over what the wiki has as camping?

I got a drop yesterday and a drop today, glitch?
Sienna is right, aside from a few camping contests here and there, where the host sells something to the store and odd/weird times, camping is a thing of the past.

No it was not a glitch, Random Drops are Random and are based on Win/Loss Ratios.

I get 1 like every other month. I've gotten 2 in one day once, thats it. I'd honestly prefer the extra money we lost.
The activity where you had to run a third party script to highlight rares so you could nab them before anyone else?
Which also enforced a 1BA cost to enter the store, no matter if you were 'camping' or not?
I'm glad it's gone.
The drop system however, was a poor replacement.

i have an idea to make it impossible to cheat at camping and i'm curious to to see if CB likes the drop system before i bring it forward

Camping was bad.
The random drop system is meh, and the CB$ reduction that came with it is ungh.
All of the rares only in auctions and CB$ rewards restored would be best.
I agree with Sickone, but I am all ears if there is something to bring a Dynamic back or to create a new one for the game.
I thought camping was pretty cool, not that I did much of it. I don't think there are any real campers left playing so expect responses to be skewed.
Given the price of rares the ability to camp seems almost redundant now.

Camping was cool. Our current system would be alot better if there were alot more new player coming in. I think the rares are spawned when junk is cleared out of the stores? It respawns items with the chance of a rare.
Lover is right, we need more players, my question is what are we doing about it? I suggest we come up with a comprehensive plan to recruit, train and ultimately retain quality new players. This will fix most issues with the economy. Basically we have items, we need buyers. Without going into much detail, I have been kicking around some ideas and will be willing to help/suggest we form a committee to tackle some of these problems. Of course we need admin support.

I see like 1 or 2 new players a day. That's just terrible and I have no idea how they find this game. If a crap-tastic game like Dark Throne can have thousands this game should too. The first thing that would help I believe is to by default have the details fight view on. Every day I fight someone to see the progress on forging my new weapon I have to re enable it. The community here is very helpful but when I do see a player that uses some BA they never come back. We need something to draw them back atleast the second time.

i find the game does not have anything dynamic and after talking to Explosive aka vic who showed me CB i think camping is an exciting dynamic i loved it when i played B.O.T.S.
i have an idea to make it impossible to cheat at camping
I'd be interested in hearing what that is. ;)
Although I'm not interested in gambling.
So would it be impossible to half the random drop system, and enable camping spawns with the other half. Again introducing a dynamic to this game some have enjoyed while still rewarding those that use BA to fight with the random drop.
Also I am just now finding out that we cannot have multiple rituals casted at the same time and some rituals dont work correctly. Maybe if this is corrected we could add rituals linked to having N*B's to benefit the dynamic. All the while motivating our top leaders/players/clans to recruiting new players.
To add to what Bounty Hunter said, I would propose that we have the Random Drop System also work through the Forge. I have always believed that the forgers get the short end of the stick on most things CB. Someone else came up with the idea of Blood Phials and Black Smith Credits. I would think it a great idea if this were implemented.
and enable camping spawns with the other half
But that does nothing to solve the problem that lead Jon to remove camping in the first place.

I've never ever gotten one of these drops you speak of. So I don't like it.
Here are the modifications that I have been suggesting that are related to this. It would be to combine the Black Market system with the drop system. They both are inefficient and ineffective for the most part. You take away the need for weekly votes and instead offer a trade-in system where you use Black Market Credits (whatever name you wish to give the currency) in order to trade in for the rares available in the BM right now along with additional options (You could add in free retrains even). To get these BMC, you would fight or forge and receive them in drops. The coins themselves should drop far more often than the current system gives in drops so that you would actually see drops with some regularity. Full items can still be given as drops, but the rate for those should be significantly lowered.
Thanks Nat, but I suggest free retrain be change to 100% refund only for the first in list of being unlearned. Would have to save BMC for a full free retrain.
As i remember it, long ago, and i dont speak for him, Jon got rid of camping to direct the efforts towards using BA to fight which creates characters. Introduced the Blackmarket and Forging soon after also. So the premise is to promote fighting and forging. And maybe my point about using this issue as a platform to discuss "many other ideas" to promote retaining players and most importantly NUB's. You see the unique perspective that I have is that when i played CB1 and CB2 when it first came out it was next to impossible to "break in" with the elite and better players. However this time I tripped backwards into Chaotic Serenity and was immediately motivated, challenged and belonged to a team. My "experience" became unique and challenging right from the get go. If we as a CB community can recreate similar experiences then we will grow.
If introducing camping is something that will restore game experience and retain players then lets explore that idea. But there also some other ideas generating out there that need to be explored as well.
Just my thoughts, anyone in the community and Admins alike feel free to chat me up and lets toss some ideas around.
camping ended because some or maybe even all (probably not sefton) the good campers used something to give them an edge. Eg nixon just saw the rares when he went in the store.
