What would you consider....... (in General)

the cardinal rules of CB?


Here are a few that I believe are essential:

Golden CB Rule: You do not have to be smarter than the next person just smarter than the situation you are dealing with.

First Rule of CB is that you will never beat everyone all the time or forever.

Second Rule is Strategy is King. CB is the land of soft counters and your job is to find the right fit for your game playing style.

Third Rule is that if you confine yourself to game mechanics you have already set yourself up for failure. The human factor can be used to bend the games mechanics to your favor for the most part.

Fourth Rule is to keep your word. If you make a deal honor it however you can. You need to build up credit within the System the only way to do this is to be honest.

Fifth Rule is plan plan plan ahead and stay focused. It is easy to give up it is hard to stay the course because of getting sidetracked or disillusioned. There will always be setbacks it is up to you to think of a way around them.

Be honest and do not lie.

If your strategy is at last halfway decent, you will eventually find a few decent enough targets, and you will slowly but surely keep advancing. Relentless determination and heavy online presence trumps almost everything else in the long run.

Interesting:

Ranger: I would have thought Rule 4 Covers what you were saying.....

Sickone: I believe this calls for another Rule: You will get out of the game what you put into it. The more you are on playing the faster your character will grow and more of a chance for it to become better.

Wording might be an issue here I have not slept well the past few days......sinuses and allergies have reared their ugly faces (>.<)

Amount of success depends on amount of determination.

Don't break the PG rule.

part of rule five should be accept help, let the vets explain the way some of the things work. Like percents that you need with other skills.
ie unarmed combat+dex, or evation+dex. my skills in the arts of communication need work, I know this could be said better also.

When you need help, ask. Regardless of anything else going on, people on CB will help people on CB play CB.

Well, if you prefer, a shorter rephrased rule would be : "Results are mostly proportionate to the effort you put in".

You don't have to be smart, but it helps. And people on CB are *really* smart. We have some incredibly brilliant, insightful people on here, many of whom have careers that are reflective of said intelligence.
