Lets have a Tourney!.. (in Contests)

But wait until I retire a character. I have a really good idea for a tourney! Really! Well..maybe, anyways:

--Rules--
BA 1600
No EXP
400k + any base items
Cannot exceed ENC per minion
Any and all items items

Its more or less a twink tourney where your growth doesnt matter just how high you can get your score, anyone can join without falling behind.

how do you train any spells if you can't use exp?

it basically leaves only weapons and thats it. if you can't use exp how do you train str/dex so you can do damage?
maybe im missing something...

oh wait, you mean no exp boosts? or no starting exp?

We should have a tourney where everyone posts what they are going to do, prior to the start. Once the tourney starts, you absolutely have to stick with what you said, could go either highest mpr or highest score. Everything you plan on training would have to be trained within 24 hours of the start of the tourney.

Could run with a 10k bonus or something to speed it up, let it last a week or so?

And to add to the detail, you would have to say what spells are trained on which minion, labeled 1,2,3,4. No switching it up based on concentrated exp, i.e. no retrains, once is trained, its the minion it stays on.

Ya know for once I would like a Tourney that involved more than just game mechanics as a way to win. Don't get me wrong I believe that should factor in just not make it the sole reason a person can win. what I am kinda saying is why don't we have a Tournament that involves the players in more than just the game but player interaction...............

RPG Tournament!

Just a thought...........

Slayer used to do that

Yes he did with the Zombie Tournies but I was thinking more than just that. While awesome I believe there should be more subjects. Shade had a really good tournament that I felt if it had more of an RPG feel to it then it would have been Legendary instead of Great/Awesome. Don't get me wrong I think that everyone has done a great job with the Tournies, except the recent one for Ax/ExBow Tweak. (Sorry but I never agreed with it even from the start.)

I know a lot of hard work goes into making the tournaments and that it's rough on a volunteer basis but it would be far more interesting to have more than game mechanic tournaments. Let's be honest if this is the only kind of tournament then you will see the same players winning again and again no one will want to actually play after a few tournies. Give them another way to try to win and you will see more people play after a few obscure players win and not the normal Game Mechanics Masters we currently have.

Just my opinion..........

This goes against the grain, but what I'd really like for us to have is a casual non-CB tourney. Something structured like the zombie tourney but run more like CyberGen/DnD RPG. It could be one action per day and structured to complete in a week or two. The casual aspect might be more inviting, it would certainly mix things up, and the hassle would be simplified to just someone acting as a DM. Standard prizes could apply, but it would be a more social affair.

Well in one of the Zombie Tournies Slayer let Wraithlin perish when I was the lowest guy on the totem pole for rankings. This was because of three factors I was told,

1) was story added in to complement the main story,

2) was a roll to survive(random die roll generator),

3) was a roll to save vs infection(random die roll generator).

We scored the same on the roll to survive but he failed the roll to save versus infection(we had a shot of vaccine at the time I believe), but in his opinion my characters storyline was better so mine got to live.

This is something that I think is cool since it was left up to chance, and when chance didn't pick it up then player involvement broke the tie. I do not think this is against the grain, I think it gives a chance to win, for all who play, regardless of technical game mechanics savvy or not.

It also gave Wraithlin a chance to play even after he was "Infected" as he could still add in story line from his characters perspective as well. Play after dead in a regular tourney? Not happening start a new char if it is in the rules otherwise go away.....lol

again just my opinion......
