The auto-next-opponent feature is now in place when using your favourites fight list and disabled for the standard list.
Jon has explained in this thread that a separate toggle is not an option and that if the auto-next-opponent feature "is not useful enough, then it will be taken out."

Good but not Great

It's isn't hard at all to get Firefox and Verifexs Greasemonkey script. And with that you will always have the option, both in favorite list and normal list to turn it on and off. So without the toggle option I think it's more worth just to install the script and don't have this thing as standard.

ultra quick farm

i think we got to be careful about it because the auto fight feature will make you lose battle sometime when one auto- fight a opponent who is quick burning. especially if this opponent is not easily defeatable.
but i vote to keep the auto-fight option i like it. finally i think its not that great after all i dont want to fight the same opponent more than once sometime the auto fight make me fight the same opponent twice in a row while i thaught it was going for the next opponent, of course i am in front of my compuer and i have all the time in the world to decide who i'll fight, i aint sitting in a bus with my cell or in class with my psp.. anyway i think autofight option should be enable/disable at will for supporter and in any case autofight mean having a conservative(sure to win)fight list of course i want to win like everyone else but sometime i take chance as i always aim for great rewards. ''the land of 20%'' not for me not for me at all.hahahahaha

In the current form, it's a disaster.

For instance, lose a fight, it jumps back to the FIRST "conscious" opponent in the list, instead of remaining in the same spot (or, worst case, advancing to the next one).

For instance, add some configuration options on how it should behave.
Example:
1. IF opponent unconscious:
1.a. jump to first conscious opponent in list
1.b. jump to next conscious opponent in list
2. IF opponent still conscious:
2.a. do not advance in list
2.b. jump to first conscious opponent in list
2.c. jump to next conscious opponent in list

That would be best, but I'd settle for an option to disable it altogether too.
Anything EXCEPT keeping it as it is now.

I have therefore voted "get rid of it".

-- Sickone

I think its fine

I have no problems with it... if I cant kill someone in one hit, I notice. People just have to pay more attention ;)

-- [LittleRed]Calynne

I like it. But then, I've been using it in the GM script for as long as it's been around. And before that I used the auto-nexting fightlist at defhoboz.biz.

So I might be a bit biased :D

-- Daz

I like it because I'm forced to use IE sometimes.
If fexy's script was adapted to support IE I wouldn't care whether this feature was hard coded into CB or not...

Meanwhile, I voted to keep it.

-- AdminG Beee

I use Opera so the GM script is not an option for me. Otherwise I wouldn't care. And yes, I know I don't fight very often, but I still like the feature :-P

Keep IT

I love it, keep it. For supporters, it's a blessing!

Makes playing 160 BA on my cell possible, a true must have.

BOO

get rid of it... its just making the game closer to botting... if your to lazy to press c or down... before you hit enter you should be shuned!

-- Hyrule Castle

With the latest change (regular list disabled, fav. list enabled), all my previous objections have become null and void.
:)

Changed vote to "keep it".

-- Sickone

Generally it's great

But ... I tend to keep past opponents who have dropped out of clans in my faves list. That way when/if they rejoin a clan I can immediately pick them up again. Now I end up fighting them if I'm not super-careful and willing to get farmed.

-- Yukk

"For supporters, it's a blessing!" ???

Not for this supporter. This feature has been an absolute disaster for me. Those using Verifex's script already have the option to have the auto scroll if they WANT to use it. For those of us it's hurting, why force us to use it? If a toggle button isn't an option, kill it altogether. Those that like it can still get it if they want.

-- Lord Bob

Great Feature

Cuts down on fighting time considerably. Bravo.

-- Ulord[NK]

BOOOOO!!!

YALLS are so LAZY for real man why lord why...

-- TinTizzy

Who needs choice?

Yep, this change is awesome -- as long as you do things the way the game wants you to! Here's the message, folks: don't try to have your own style or way of fighting. Just take what is given to you and smile a lot! Viva La Choice!

ULord, if this has really cut your fight time, then I'd like to see your keyboard and have you explain why it is so difficult (and apparently time-consuming) to navigate and THEN hit Enter to fight. My fight time has not decreased one iota, and I can no longer do things with my fightlist that I used ta could. That's a good thing? Apparently! Like Disney and the local news! Lap it up, folks!

Go back!

I agree with Sut.

Before the change we had plenty of options. Now you take it and love it.

/me liked the old way better, but too bad Jon will not give us an option to turn it off. At least for supporters who support the game.

I am no programmer, but I guess it must be very hard to code in an option. Otherwise I would hope Jon listens to the entire community and reconsiders the no option option..

-- QBRanger

Buddy Lee says no thank you.

I don't think I'm the only one who had people on my "fight list" that I just didn't want to be fighting all the time.... or at all. And to have it jump up to the top of the list just when eve it wants. I guess I just liked having control of the way I play as well... + another 1 to sut.

-- j'bob

lol it helps me as an occasional hp user... really speeds up burning... i give it a thumbs up

-- lostling

Let's face it...

90% of the fighting time I spent trying to get through as fast as I can. When I want to experiment? I set aside half an hour or so and tweak around, using both the standard list and the favourite list. To me, this change results in net gain. I save a bit of time fighting 90% of the time, outweighing the slight need to readjust in the experiment time. My overall utility is increased and I vote as such.

Perfect!

Never mind...

Exact Reason For A toggle

ULord, your statement is the exact reason a simple toggle would be in order. You've already consumed the Kool-Aid, so are only seeing the good side, and are softening any inconvenience by saying the net gain is still worth it. That's classic "forced to do things a certain way but like it better because there's no choice anyway" thinking.

That also means a toggle would give you all the benefit of the "net gain" you speak of, while allowing net gain for others who dislike the lack of control. We're talking net gain on the net gain! Who wouldn't want that?

I know Jonathan has already started the discussion with "no toggle", but I don't really care. I still don't understand what would be so hard about that. Jonathan added a score vs PR listing preference a LONG time ago (I helped pay for that, too), and I'm not even sure how many folks use it. In any case, implementing that HAD to be more difficult than this toggle would be, because this new functionality ALREADY had a toggle philosophy built into it!

So, sorry, I'm not buying the difficulty argument any more now that I have thought it through... If I call it like I see it, this is a pure philosophical/control issue, simple as that.

-- QBsutekh137

Agreed

This is one case I 100% agree with Sut.

If a toggle cannot be enacted for any reason, then drop this feature. The benefit is not worth the loss of control in fighting.

-- QBRanger

hmm

"The benefit is not worth the loss of control in fighting. "

it would appear that for approximately 4 out of 5 users that it is worth it.

-- Admindudemus

Sut, I'm not really a Kool Aid sort of guy. At least, I'd like to think so. I really like this change; I've been using Veri's script for a while now and it suits me and how I fight. And as Dude says, it looks like it suits a lot of people. I agree, however, that a means to switch on and off in order to suit everybody would be a better option.

-- QBJohnnywas

I voted a 'keep it'

The problem I saw with it was mostly the effect it had on a standard list - with that fixed, I have no problems with it.

-- QBOddBird

Exactly, again.

Exactly, JW. Four out of five is laudable.

Five out of five is even better, and one simple toggle gets us there. I assure you, even if I were in the 4 out of 5 (which I am when on my iPhone), I would still be fighting tooth and nail for the full 5/5 (i.e. a toggle). And to me, in my opinion, anything less than that fight is Kool-Aid related. There is no reason to settle, and yet, sadly, 80% of folks have.

I guess rocking the boat just isn't worth it any more.
