There should at the very least be an option "I never played CB1" because I'm sure a number of voters of CB2 won't have played CB1.

-- Josh

I said CB1 only because of the lack of a BA limit. Otherwise I prefer CB2.

-- Reyth

CB1 had a 160 BA limit. No idea on whether it had a max BA you can get to like 1600 here.

However, without a NCB, why would you store up 1600+ BA?

-- QBRanger

As if it matters....

We all know this poll will have ZERO effect on anything however I said CB1 as that's where I first met much of the CB community; however if the originals weren't there any longer i'd have to say CB2, but even then i'd say CB1 for reasons I shalt not explain here which would only lead back to CB2 and well where's the option that fits this? Can I vote multiple times??? :P

Both

Remember when both were running at the same time. I vote for that!

-- Atomicboy

CB1 when I played it had no limit on battles. It was "All you can click". That's what I mean.

-- Reyth

I did technically play CB1 for a very short amount of time probably just shortly before it close down (somewhere between 03-04 was when I first discovered CB) But I don't really remember all that much about it to make a fair comparison (A subjective comparison that is.)

Considering I didn't return to the game until '08 when it was already in CB2, which I then left again and came back in late '10. I would say when I came back the second time (Nov 6 2010) would be the day I really started playing CB.

So I had to go with CB2 almost solely based on the fact its pretty much all I know.

CB1, knowing you can never catch up unless the top players quit. Why would you want to go back to that? Doesn't it make sense to have a large pool of players at the top? (for competition sake)

-- Escuro

@Escuro

CB was never supposed to be about reaching the top. It was supposed to be community first, game second.

As it is, you pay the auction price of an item anyway. So what exactly is/was the problem with people who want to use BA to get money from store camping instead of using BA to fight? Right now, there are very few non-supporter items with any value anyway.

Oddly enough, the only thing I liked about CB2 when it came out was tattoos.

Edit: and now my second two lines look silly cause you deleted 2 of your points.

@ Josh

Mission accomplished. :P

CB1

..had no crappy N*B, a more balanced economy, a better sense of progression and accomplishment, FS forums we could reply to (yes, CB2 had those for a while), no NW->PR link, and was just overall more accessible. I'd go back in a heartbeat if I could.

-- Lord Bob

CB1 had an equipment ladder. You had to invest in lower quality gear and earn your way to the good stuff, and that important RPG element is completely gone from CB2.

-- Demigod

huge fan of CB1! I started there, an had a huge character. not top 100 or anything.. but still big.. CB2 is fun also.. but CB1 all the way

-- TH3 C0113CT0R

I enjoyed both

-- Admiralkiller

Both

CB1 for the old community which never really moved over to CB2.

CB2 for strategies more advanced than 'Equip Lochaber Axe, ELBow, Stack of Refilling Supporter Arrows, Heavy AC train hp/str/dx".

-- King

I like CB

I prefer v2 over v1 just because of tattoos.

-- Unappreciated Misnomer

Overall i better like CB2, but with the current version of the game, i think CB1 is better. We are due for a new datebase and its urgent.

-- Duke

didn't get to play much of CB1. I did remember the bank lol. It seemed much easier to me with no NUB and the way it scaled (or maybe that is just my imagination) up. The more active you were the faster you grew. Now we can wait 8 hours before we reach our max cap of 160. Which of course is nice, but now as long as you are active, then no one has a real chance to catch other people.

cb1

There have been equipment improvements in CB2. But I still feel that the CB1 version was better balanced. I also liked the bank and the ladder style for equipment. A big part of it for me was to try and get that extra + on the Elbow :).
Yes I do also miss some of the old players but I am trying to divorce those feelings from my vote :)

-- Phrede

I miss CB1. Dearly.

-- BadFish

CB2 only

I started about 7 years ago with some friends. Met people like Bast in the chat rooms and a few others who have left or changed their names. Read the rules and mapped out a strategy. Struggles my butt off to buy the right weapons and build the right skills then a big rule change came and my plan was nerfed and the millions were wasted. Got a bit disgruntled and my friends and I left. But im back and I have a new plan.
