{CB1}Lukeyman May 10 2005 4:31 PM EDT

Anything with Corn?

IndependenZ May 10 2005 4:32 PM EDT

Gotta love it!

{CB1}Lukeyman May 10 2005 4:32 PM EDT

My CoC has no Bonus and i have my corn on

Myonax May 10 2005 4:34 PM EDT

Confirmed no bonus to CoC w/ +7 Corn and +5 CoI (I fought and trained)

{CB1}Lukeyman May 10 2005 4:34 PM EDT

CH is Corn, and whats Eo/ED?

Synco May 10 2005 4:34 PM EDT

what's CH?

Nixon Jibfest May 10 2005 4:35 PM EDT

what's a CH?

AdminShade May 10 2005 4:35 PM EDT

try train -> home?

Chocolate Thunder May 10 2005 4:36 PM EDT

Luke,

CH to 2% bonus to enchantments per level

That's the corn.. only Enchantments.

[-war-] May 10 2005 4:37 PM EDT

Uh do they still give ac? or is it each + gives level stuff instead.

AdminQBVerifex May 10 2005 4:38 PM EDT

I think I'm only getting 1% bonus.

Myonax May 10 2005 4:38 PM EDT

Opps my bad Glossed over Corn not effecting DD.

WeaponX May 10 2005 4:41 PM EDT

i'm shocked. corn + 10 is 20 % to an AMF

[-war-] May 10 2005 4:46 PM EDT

It used to be that the magic bonus stuff only gave lower than 100% of what it says it would apply right? Just like the -% magic.

Also want to know, will all the items that give enchantment stuff now give enchantment per + instead of + and ac? Because if not then it will seem unbalanced for certain items especially people with DB's.

AdminQBVerifex May 10 2005 4:48 PM EDT

I think you people forgot, a corn is INSANELY expensive to upgrade past oh.. I dunno.. +5

AdminShade May 10 2005 4:54 PM EDT

Cornuthaum is indeed very expensive to upgrade:

A Cornuthaum [0] (+8) worth $1,863,550 owned by Mr Bones (Chicken Farm)

also indeed if an item has 1% magic penalty it gives .75% penalty to Enchant offense and .66% to enchant defense, the new Corn change however is the full % bonus.

[-war-] May 10 2005 4:57 PM EDT

Ok I found a solution, get db to have some sort of AC bonus, lets say 1/10th or 1/5th of enchantment level.

Myonax May 10 2005 4:58 PM EDT

Jon,

How do these changes reflect in naming?

From naming Page:
Naming armor increases its stats by 4%, whether this is AC (for most armor) or something else such as for tattoos or Displacement Boots. (This 4% is treated as "enchantment bonus" so it will apply to magical as well as physical damage.)

So will that add a 4% boos in enchantments making
CoI + 5 = CoI + 9?
and
Corn +5 = Corn +9?

Bolfen May 10 2005 5:06 PM EDT

What were the old BG's archery grant? 0.15?

mchaos May 10 2005 5:08 PM EDT

Myonax, I certainly don't speak for Jon, but I think that the naming bonus is tacked onto the end, so if you have a CoI +5, the naming bonus tacks on .2% (4% of the 5% that the plus gives you) for an overall effect of +5.2%.

AdminShade May 10 2005 5:08 PM EDT

belegs used to give .2

Bolfen May 10 2005 5:11 PM EDT

holy shmoly. so the BGs were seriously nerfed? +15 BG is something around 4 million NW. I +20 is probably out of the question.

AdminJonathan May 10 2005 5:11 PM EDT

"increases by 4%" means "multiplies by 1.04"

and as that page also notes, naming bonus always rounds up

Arorrr May 10 2005 5:12 PM EDT

Jon pwned you mages all.

At least the change to Corn make no different to my strat. Though EG hurts.

[EG] Almuric May 10 2005 5:17 PM EDT

Is a ToI/ToF/ToS affected by the minion's wearing of a Corn?

[EG] Almuric May 10 2005 5:17 PM EDT

Never mind. I'm stoopid.

WeaponX May 10 2005 5:17 PM EDT

was the BG's a typo or did you really make them 0.01 i guess i think you meant 0.1

Becoming May 10 2005 5:22 PM EDT

MegamanV, there was no typo. If they granted .1 per + then everyone could get them to +10 and never train a single experience point into archery.

Synco May 10 2005 5:22 PM EDT

Um...0.01 is 1% and 0.1 is 10%

Do u think he meant 1% or 10%?
I don't think he meant 10%...

WeaponX May 10 2005 5:25 PM EDT

but 0.01 means you'd need like 4 mill to make them the equivalent of what they were. that is a tremendous nerf

QBRanger May 10 2005 5:27 PM EDT

Yes, Jon nerfed archers a bit. Anyone doubt that would happen?

{CB1}Lukeyman May 10 2005 5:31 PM EDT

my mage!! noooo!!!

Chargerz-Back May 10 2005 5:31 PM EDT

the ToA change more than makes up for it.

AdminJonathan May 10 2005 5:31 PM EDT

BG formerly gave 0.15; Shade is either smoking something or remembering something from the very distant past

Synco May 10 2005 5:36 PM EDT

Hi Shade... *cough* drugs *cough* =P j/k

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] May 10 2005 5:39 PM EDT

Can BG's take archery above the 100% cap?

[-war-] May 10 2005 5:40 PM EDT

only if u got trillians of cb to spend.

Warchild May 10 2005 5:41 PM EDT

another quick question

the BG used to be able to take archery above 1.00 is this still true?

Side note: Shade was not the only person that was under the impression that BG's added .2 to archery ...oh well

Quark May 10 2005 5:42 PM EDT

Can anyone confirm the average price over NW of the HoI? When mine got deleted I got a mil back, but I paid 1.6 mil for it in auctions, and I thought that was a normal price. Did I miss the average auction price and royally overpay for it? (I'm assuming the refund I got was based on average price over NW).

(Is this something Jon needs to check since the HoI doesn't exist on the meta-stats any more)

Thx.

QBRanger May 10 2005 5:44 PM EDT

Ok,

Now naming a corn or coi will give it an additional +1 due to the rounding up factor.

But what will naming Belegs do?
IE if you have +10 belegs thats .1 bonus to archery. naming gives 4% so you talking .14? will that round up to 1.0?? please please let it.

mchaos May 10 2005 5:50 PM EDT

G Maximus,
google cache of item meta stats from April 28:
~one mil over NW

AdminJonathan May 10 2005 5:52 PM EDT

1.04 * 10 rounds up to 11

work with me here, guys

Quark May 10 2005 5:56 PM EDT

Hm - forgot about google cache. Oh well. Guess I overpaid. Thanks, guys.

Warchild May 10 2005 5:57 PM EDT

Ranger the bonus that naming gives is to the actual + not the effect generated by it...meaning that the +10 named Beleg's will be the same as a +11 unnamed Beleg's (10 * 1.04 =10.4 rounded up to 11)

Basically the naming on Beleg's will always give another + (unless of course someone takes theirs to over +25)

LumpBot May 10 2005 9:36 PM EDT

I'm a bit confused, what is the point of bringing belegs down and putting tulkas up? Everyone is just going to buy TGs and do slightly less range damage. This doesn't seem to do much except make us all scramble for new junk.

LumpBot May 10 2005 10:22 PM EDT

You know it would be cool if Belegs and elven boots were now forgable since Tulkas, BoM, and such not is.

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] May 10 2005 10:34 PM EDT

I guess the thought must be that archery was overpowered.

spydah May 11 2005 7:36 PM EDT

" This doesn't seem to do much except make us all scramble for new junk."

um, have you not been paying attention? That's about 50% of the game.
