How much USD you think Jonathan has made? (in Off-topic)
how much money do you guys think that john has made durring this game? Because i think with the greatness of the game he has to have made thousands, and then again... what do you guys think it takes to run a game like this?
If john would like to respond to this it would be cool, as i am very curious, everyone else can post what you think.

He has made enough to keep his interest as a creator in continually reforming the game as well as support system upgrades so more people can enjoy it.
well, sorry for asking a simple question..... but o well

Based on the time he put into it, I say he's probably made less than minimum wage, but not by much. I could be wrong.

But how much of the "money he makes" goes back into the server/upgrades and bandwidth?
Personally I feel it is close to a wash for him, certainly not enough to quit his RL job.

I was including bandwidth in my estimate, but not server upgrades.

Out of 5200 users, I estimated 1700 are supporters (1/3 of total users). That comes to around USD $17,000. Items naming, this is a tricky one. I will put an average 2 item namings per user at $10 per 2 items. So that comes to around USD $ 52,000. Say there are 300 supporter items purchased at $6 each, which comes to around $ 1,800. So, my guess is all up, he ended close to $ 70K.
Just a guess. :)

Jon has made no money. He set up a charity to help unemployed NUB multis who could no longer make a living selling CB$ for USD. The charity has built an enclosure on a private Caribbean island. If you have ever wondered where all those multis go, they're here, dressed in bright orange CB jumpsuits.
You know all those item namings? The multis engrave each item by hand. In the mornings they pick bananas and at Christmas they dress up in Elven gear and accompany Jon on his sleigh ride to all the CB children of the world.

Coolwater a better guess would be based off of these numbers:
Tattoo of Jigorokano 488
Vorpal Blade 222
Trollskin Armor 76
Mage Shield 199
Rune of Enlightenment 213
The first supporter item was the TJk which means that there were, trying to cover for Tattoo Artist changes, some 550 Supporters initially.
Then you have the other supporter items of which I will count 20% as being a new supporter and the rest (80%) as being already supporter and in for the Item.
I also guess that nobody has used the Tattoo Artist to make a RoE into something else.
That makes:
550 * $10 = $5500
44* $10 + 176 *$6 = 1496
15 * $10 + 61 * $6 = 516
40 * $10 + 160 * $6 = 1360
43 * $10 + 170 * $6 = 1450
Which makes a total of: $10,322
Then with item namings: I take 1/2 named item per user as an average
5204 users who created a Character: makes ~2600 named items (which is too much I think already)
This would have made: 2600 * $5 = $13,000
So my estimation would be more in the lines of:
$23,322 USD made off of this game, not counting for the costs to run the server or the time put into the game.

ok extending this:
$23,322 USD made off of this game, not counting for the costs to run the server or the time put into the game.
That's an average of almost $2000 a month
Then there are the expenditures of the power the server needs and the internet connection, as well as the server itself.

Not nearly as much as us UD forgers, or the Nub => USD
You've asked the wrong question. The interesting question is how much real USD do you think has passed through this money laundering scheme that Jonathan calls CB2? :-)

Umm hows about this for the use of the usd for server costs, rental space?
Not really sure but technically money would end up going to pay for the house so the server can sit there and we can all enjoy this game...
So umm basicaly the point of view here is that the money doesn't go to paying for the house so jonathan and his wife and kids live there off this money but its like server paying rent since it lives there...
Or if it makes you happy maybe have the server moved out of the house and into its own apartment with a broadband line and stuff and it will sit there in an empty apartment and money generated from cb would go to paying rent for that apartment so server can be there and no one will feel guilty about saying that they helped pay for the house :)
well, apparently he has made enough money to upgrade the server, or else he is spending his own money :D
Shade - Nunya? ... as in Nunya Business .. :)

more than me maybe I should think of switching jobs? But most of it proably goes to maintainance so he probably doesn't make enough to make this his occupation.
Actually, I'm much more interested in learning how much Jon's ongoing costs are. Subtract hosting and hardware costs from your estimates and watch the numbers sharply trend towards zero :-)
On a related note. I wonder how much he's saving now that we no longer have campers loading the store pages every 5 seconds.

btw there were way more than 550 TJK, last highest number i remember seeing was over 650 TJKs, the tatoo artists changed a lot fo them, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were 700 or even more TJK that existed.

You guys forget that non supporters are hit with advertisements. I'm sure it's not much, but it covers some costs at least.

Jon does not use popups, the only way he is getting money from an ad is if someone clicks it.
And google has gone rather cheap on the payouts anyhow.
